I couldn't stop replaying the moment I had with Prince Gabriel. It just seemed so unbelievable to me. If I had been told that I would be kissed by a prince two weeks ago, I would have thought they were crazy.
I ate my dinner while others talked. The only time I talked was when Prince Gabriel asked me if I wanted to try that and this...well right until Princess Cadence started to pin questions at me.
"So Miss Ezra, your disappearance really did caused us all to talk, now please if you may because I'm curious, tell us all where were you?" She seemed so smug. I turned to Queen Keira and I could tell why. The Queen gave me a death stare. I swallowed and turned my attention back to Princess Cadence.
"Well I was in my room. I wasn't feeling well and I thought a little rest will help me feel better which it did."
"Were you in your room all day?" Queen Keira asked.
I looked blankly at her. "Um well I did went down to get something to eat."
Queen Keira pursed her lips. She probably expected a different answer. I knew I saved myself there.
"Are you all right, though?" King Gavin asked. "I dare say Miss Ezra, you look a bit distracted."
"It's because my love was worried and I feel bad about inflicting that worry on him." I was pretending but I wasn't sure if he was anymore. He just admitted that he cared about me and then kissed me on the cheek. What could that possibly mean?
"Oh Miss Ezra, don't feel bad," King Gavin said. "It's he to feel bad. You won't feel bad any longer."
Prince Gabriel turned to his father. "I beg your pardon?"
"Son, when you go off to a couple wars or if your presence is required someplace else, you are going to leave her and she will be the one having to worry about you."
"A good point made," Queen Alena said as she lift up her glass of wine.
"What if I decide to take her with me?" Prince Gabriel asked.
"So you would take her to war with you? Gabriel!" Queen Keira shrieked.
All eyes were on her and Prince Gabriel. Both of them, with their own intimidating eyes looked down on each other.
That broke when King Gavin butt in. "You can't put her in danger, Gabriel."
"I agree," Queen Alena said. "A girl in war? Unacceptable!"
"Let me explain myself," Prince Gabriel said. "I meant what if I took her with me when my presence is requested at another kingdom?" He turned to his mother. "Of course I'm not stupid enough to bring her to war!"
King Gavin thought about this. "Well that is acceptable. You can bring her to meetings."
I just finished my dinner and a bulter came to pick it up. I smiled at him, thanking at him. Prince Gabriel noticed and looked to see the butler's face. It was no other than Asher, the Queen's personal butler.
Prince Gabriel glared at him until he left. He turned around and stared at his mother.
"Please, excuse me." After that he stood up and walked out of the dining room.
I looked after him and then discovered Princess Cadence was doing the same. I blushed. It wasn't going to be me. I would try to ignore my feelings. It wasn't going to be me who would fall for him because I haven't. They were just feelings, they were inferior.
Queen Keira excused herself as well and called over her butler. They walked out together. I turned to see if King Gavin noticed but he didn't. He was too engrossed with speaking to Queen Alena about some memory, I believe.
