An hour later after breakfast, the Truman Triplets went out to the car where Desmond was waiting.
On the way, Ashleigh fidgeted with the paper in her hand she was had memorised for saying to Travis as Penelope reached over and squeezed her hand as Ashleigh smiled gratefully at her.
‘You’ll do great!’ Penelope whispered as Ashleigh nodded.
They reached the fair entrance and got out of the limo.
‘Thank you Desmond!’ Penelope smiled as he nodded cordially as they closed the door and he drove off.
Travis was already waiting there for them and smiled the biggest smile when he saw Ashleigh.
Okay Ash, just breathe. You’ve memorised this. You got this!
‘Hi Ashleigh!’ Travis smiled going to take her in his arms but she raised her hand to stop him.
‘Travis...there’s something I want to say to you...’ she said.
‘Woah, is she dumping him already, this should be good!’ Persephone whispered to Penelope as she shook her head.
‘No, ssh!’ Penelope hissed back.
Ashleigh took a deep breath. ‘Mi dulce y apuesto príncipe, no quiero nada más que tenerte en mis brazos y tener la oportunidad de envejecer contigo. Te amo Travis.’
Travis was amazed. Yes, he had found out her surprise accidentally, but he never expected her to be this good in just a week.
He was in shock so long that Ashleigh blushed and looked down.
‘I’m sorry. Did I not pronounce it correctly? Did you not understand what I said?’
She looked up at him sadly.
Travis shook himself out of his trance.
‘On the contrary! I understood every syllable! That was beautiful Ash! Your Spanish is even better than Izzy’s!’ he smiled grabbing her hands in his own.
Ashleigh smiled and blushed. ‘Gracias!’
Travis chuckled. ‘And your pronunciation was muy Bueno!’
Ashleigh grinned. ‘That means very good, right?’
Travis smiled. ‘Si!’
‘Thought so. Joshua said it a lot too in my lessons!’ Ashleigh replied.
‘But Ash...do you think...I could be your teacher from now on?’ Travis asked.
‘I would like that very much!’ Ashleigh smiled.
But he also wanted to be honest in their relationship.
‘You know, to be honest, I saw you and Joshua in the park talking the other day and...I assumed the worst. I actually thought you’d gotten sick of me already...’
Ashleigh gasped. ‘Never. You’re the only Spanish speaking knight in shining armour this girl is interested in!’
‘Aww!’ Travis smiled.
They smile lovingly at each other as they hold each other’s hands, their fingers intertwined.
