CONFRONTATION - PART 2

‘What shall we do now?’ Marc asked.

‘Dad said I can stay out until lunchtime. Then I have to go home as I have to finish off some science homework for tomorrow’ Ann-Marie replied.

‘Yeah, we’re going to work on our manga after lunch’ Marc smiled at Nathaniel.

‘We’ll be sure to give you a copy of our latest draft!’ Nathaniel smiled.

‘Awesome!’ Ann-Marie grinned. ‘I can’t wait to read it!’

‘How about we go to the arcade for a bit?’ Marc smiled. ‘Since it’s close by!’

‘Sounds fun!’ Ann-Marie smiled. ‘I do have a little bit of money from my part-time job that Dad told me to keep, now that he has a job at the school starting tomorrow.’

‘Oh yeah, were you still going to continue working there?’ Marc asked as they started walking towards the arcade.

‘Dad called my work from a nearby payphone when we got to the new house as we still haven’t got a phone yet. He told them I would be cutting down my days there drastically as he wants me to focus on my schoolwork the last two years of school especially, as it would be too much to do a part-time job after school five days a week and on weekends too.’

‘Yeah, that is a lot on your plate’ Nathaniel agreed.

‘So I did a few hours yesterday afternoon and from now on, I’m only doing deliveries Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday afternoons as they are their busiest days. And they’re okay with that.’

‘Yeah! That’s a lot better!’ Marc smiled.

‘Yeah, you don’t want to burn yourself out’ Nathaniel agreed.

‘Exactly. He’s such a thoughtful Dad that way!’ Ann-Marie smiled.

‘Yeah, he seemed really nice when I met him Friday afternoon!’ Marc smiled.

‘Well, here we are!’ Nathaniel smiled as they reached the NRG Zone Arcade.

‘Let’s have some fun!’ Marc grinned as they all chuckled and after Ann-Marie got a game card and put some credits on they all ran to their favourite games.
