Meanwhile, back at the Liberty, everyone had just finished their mains of the ratatouille and the green goddess salad.
‘Mmm, both equally delicious dishes!’ Tom smiled.
‘Yes, amazing!’ Marinette smiled at Luka as they still played footsies under the table.
‘Our compliments to the chefs!’ Sabine smiled as the Couffaine’s and Jagged all blushed.
‘Everyone ready for dessert?’ Tom said eagerly as he started to get up.
‘No no, Tom. You’re the guest, I’ll get it!’ Arnaka smiled as she went to the kitchen and opened up the cake box revealing a delicious strawberry shortcake.

Juleka came to help and got the plates and cake forks as well as a cake server as they walked back to the dining room.
‘Does anyone need a top up on their drinks?’ Arnaka asked.
‘Yes please!’ everyone responded.
‘Luka, would you be able to handle that while Juleka and I cut the cake and hand it around?’ Arnaka asked him.
‘Sure thing Mom’ Luka replied, feeling almost sad to be torn away from Marinette and their game of footsies under the table. But as soon as he poured everyone’s drinks and sat back down, Luka and Marinette went straight back to where they left off.
‘So, Luka and Juleka, it must have been exciting having your family over from Scotland a couple of weeks ago!’ Sabine smiled.
‘Ya!’ Juleka grinned. ‘They’re a lot of fun!’
‘Yeah’ Luka agreed. ‘And they really accepted Marinette as one of the family’ Luka added as he smiled lovingly at Marinette who blushed.
‘And Rose too’ Juleka added.
‘And even me!’ Jagged added, still not quite believing how they all stood up for him. ‘Although, Nanarky’s Dad, Angus took some convincing!’
‘Aye, he’s as stubborn as a mule me Dad. But I think he understands now how important having a male role model is fer the kids. As do I’ Arnaka smiled at Jagged who smiled with gratitude back.
‘Thanks Nanarky’ Jagged smiled.
‘No problem ye old sea dog’ Arnaka grinned.
‘Aww! That is so precious!’ Tom smiled with tears in his eyes.
‘Tom, are you crying?’ Sabine chuckled.
‘No, no, I just got something in my eye is all!’ Tom replied, wiping his eyes.
‘You sentimental gentleman you!’ Sabine smiled as she kissed his cheek. ‘That’s one of the reasons I married you.’
‘Aww! Thanks honey!’ Tom smiled as everyone smiled at their interaction.
