After they had finished the pizza, Phil made an announcement. ‘Hey everyone, wanna watch the rough draft of the documentary?’ he asked.
‘You mean, it’s ready?’ Amber asked, surprised.
‘That soon?’ Mylene added.
‘Well, while you both were akumatised, I worked on the editing by connecting my camera to my laptop. So we can have a look if you want!’ Phil smiled as everyone else smiled and nodded in agreement.
They put the pizza boxes in the recycling bin before heading inside the Liberty to set up Phil’s laptop onto the projector screen, like how Luka did with his phone for the photo slideshow he did several weeks before.
Arnaka made some microwave popcorn in bowls that was passed around while Phil set it up. ‘Okay, ready to see some cine-magic?’
‘Yes!’ everyone replied excitedly.
‘Okay then, here we go!’ Phil smiled as he started the rough edit of the documentary.
It opens with Amber and Mylène aboard the Liberty:
Amber: “Greetings citizens of Paris!”
Mylene: “We want to bring to light a very poignant issue affecting our beloved city.”
Amber and Mylène: “The overuse of single use plastic!”
Ashleigh: “The problem with plastic is that it does not decompose.”
Travis: “All the plastic that’s been made and reused has ended up in the environment.”
Kevin: “And it’s still there in one form or another.”
Owen: “That’s terrible!” he says, as he gasps and puts his hands on his head.
The scene cuts to Nino.
Nino: “Yes, the situation is serious, my friends!” He points towards the camera. “We’re gonna need everyone’s help!”
Scene cuts to Arriety and Rose who look at each other.
Arrietty and Rose: “But what can we do?”
Alya: “You might not realise it, but even the smallest of changes you implement each day can have a lasting impact!”
Adrien: “And if nothing is done...” The screen changes to plastic in the ocean. “...there will soon be more plastic than fish in our oceans.”
Kagami: “Therefore, it is urgent for us to change our habits...”
Stacey: “...and make sure the earth is still sustainable for future generations.”
Zoe: “Plastic is everywhere, even in our clothes!” she says as she drags a trash bag full of plastic waste.
Heidi: “And even clothes can be recycled! Like hand-me-downs!” she says, handing a shirt to her younger sister.
Hazel: “And when you’re done wearing them, why not donate your unwanted clothes to a thrift store, rather than throwing them away?” she says, handing it to Amber.
Amber: “You never know, you just might pick up a new old treasure!” she smiles, hugging the shirt.
Fei: “And it doesn’t matter where in the world you are, whether in Paris, Shanghai, or New York!” she says as the screen changes to Jameela and Baljeet with an Indian backdrop.
Jameela: “Or even India!”
Baljeet: “You can always be part of the solution!”
Cuts to Aeon and Jessica in front of a New York backdrop.
