You haven't changed that much.

It has been about 13 years since he made it back to present time and 13 years since he has spoken with his "family". The only two people he was still in contact with and that was Klaus and Victor. Victor would call about once a month and Klaus would call whenever it was convenient for him. They would fill him in on anything that was happening. Its not that he hated the rest of his family, they just thought he was dead and he was. To an extent. the person know as "Five Hargreaves" was dead. But the person now known as Paul Mathews was alive. Five moved to Hatchetfield when he was 17. After working for 4 years to stop the apocalypse, he managed to figure out a way to stop it and get himself back to the present. Once he got back and realized his family assumed he was dead, he chose to lean into it. He insisted the help of Victor and Klaus ( Victor because he knew he would keep it quiet and Klaus because no one believes what he says anyway). They helped him find where his birth mother was so he could ask for her help. She was surprisingly willing to help him considering that they had never met before. He had a sibling a year younger than that he looked exactly like. That brother when missing a few weeks ago (five asked about and his mother simply said "this is Hatchetfield, people go missing every day"). From that day on he took up the mantel as Paul Mathews and with in a few months he was thriving. He had never realized that a normal life could be so nice. He truly loves life in Hatchetfield. He has a stable job, great friends (except for Ted), and the best girlfriend he could have asked for. Everything was perfect until that call.
