"Ha! I got you." Adina smiles so brightly and it does things to me where my chest gets tight.
"You got lots of natural talent with that game." I smile as she gets her tickets she won.
"It is all about timing though too. Just watch the bar and when it gets between the high ticket numbers you hit the button. Hold your hand on it and count your seconds on how fast the bar moves." She shrugs. "Some math skills is all with a tad bit of reflex."
I chuckle as she explains the game we just played. "Well how good are you at hockey?"
"Now you may win all those tickets." She smiles and we walk over to it.
"Isn't air hockey the same as the last game in the terms you descibed it?"
"No." She deadpans and then laughs. "In air hockey you never know how the opponent will react or moves they will make, which is where I can't judge for anything between watching them and then that little black circle can move way to fast for my eyes sometimes."
"We can pick another one?"
"Nope. Let's do this." She smiles and we start the game.
I go slow and as she watches the black puck in the middle we slowly start increasing speed. Then she goes to hit the puck but it goes backwards and into her slot, giving me the point.
"And that is how bad I can be." She laughs.
"You done good."
"At slow speeds sure but then I gave you the point." She snickers and we play a couple more rounds. I take the tickets then we keep moving around different video games that are set up older style.
"What is that?" Adina points.
"Oh, that is a thing you punch and depending on the force behind it the machine will give tickets. It goes by the hundred point system but if you get over five hundred points you get like fifty tickets."
"I wonder how hard you can pack a punch." She hums and I can't help but smile when she motions for me to do it after she pressed the button and the ball came down.
I step back and swing at it. The points meter goes up and then my tickets come out. "Your turn." I smile while getting my tickets and press the button for her.
She swings and misses the first time. I bite my lip as she huffs. "Yeah, take this one again because I stink."
"Use your other hand. I noticed during games you're dominant in your left, not your right like when you eat or even write."
Adina scrunches her face up and shrugs. "Okay then."
I stand back and she swings again, but this time hits the ball. As the numbers fly up my mouth drops open. Maybe no one should make her mad. Adina may not have got the number I did but still a pretty strong punch she must have packed to get five hundred and one.
