"Easy there

"Easy there. Try to breath." Drew's voice is calm and his hands rub my back.

Finally the vomit show ends and I groan in the non-sexy way possible. He stands up as I sit on my butt against the wall. Drew moves over me and then hands me a cool cloth.

"I'm sorry." I sigh once he helps me up from the floor.

"No reason to be sorry." He smiles then hands me a travel bottle of mouth wash.

"How are you always prepared?"

He laughs. "It is an obsession of mine. I leave these things in bathrooms, but all the sweets we ate growing up oral hygiene has always been very important."

I use the mouth wash and then hear meowing at the door. Poor Gus, he is sitting outside the door as Drew opens it for me. We make it back to the table and everyone looks at me and I can feel the heat come to my cheeks.

"Here you go dear. I had made this too just hadn't gotten it on the table. Margot doesn't like shrimp so I had some steaks made up too." Evelin places in them front of me once I sit down.

"Thank you." I whisper.

"So how far along are you?" She looks at me and I see nothing but kindness in her eyes as her voice is soft too.

"Eighteen weeks." I watch as one by one everyone must be counting back in their heads and I look to Drew as he takes my hand in his and smiles lightly at me. "I was pregnant when I moved here."

"Oh." Eager speaks up first and then clears his throat. "Drew is the nicest guy I know, especially out of the three of us brothers."

"He truly is. I actually tried to push him away." I go quiet when their wide eyes look up to me.

"That is true. She had refused to date me at first but I didn't give up and on the second time got her to agree to a date." Drew smiles and squeezes my thigh.

"That is a first to hear someone refuse you since most want to flock to you." Eager laughs hard.

"Rough past dear?" Evelin looks to me with soft eyes. A motherly way, I hadn't seen in years.

"Yeah, I moved here with my older brother to just start new."

"It is the perfect town to do it in." Greg nods. "Evelin here was the same." He smiles when looking over to her.

"Yes. Chas isn't Greg's biological son, I too was pregnant when falling in love with Greg Maxell here." Evelin smiles at him then looks to me with comforting eyes and smile. "I was on the run from my ex, something not many know, I was a runaway at eighteen and made it here but it was easy since I was a foster child and an actual adult when I left the home I was in. Thankfully my ex never found me, but he was one of those popular students and had fancy scholarships already lined up."

"Seems like we have much in common then." I give her a soft smile and she nods.

"You are safe with us here and this town is a mini refuge, as there are many ladies I know that came here in search of a new start." Evelin gets up and hugs me from behind. "Now you eat up, we can't have the baby hungry."

"Baby? Did I hear right?" Another male voice comes.

I turn and see a male verison of Evelin but with black hair not a light brown like Drew's or Eagers.

"Chas!" Evelin calls his name and then lets me go to hug her oldest. Greg hugs him before they let him sit down.

"How are you both doing?" Chas asks them. They tell him the same as they have been.

"It is good to be home." Chas smiles to his parents. "Hey there. You must be the enchanting Adina I have heard about on the phone." He smiles wide at me across the table.

"Hey no flirting, she is mine." Drew laughs and chunks a roll at Chas' head.

"No harm in it and besides she may be into me." Chas winks and I shake my head with a smile.

The brotherly love at its finest it should seem.

The topic gets to the bakery when Chas asks them about it.

Once dinner is done, Evelin and Greg bring out some sweet treats and we enjoy them in the living room.

"So do you know the gender of the baby yet?" Margot asks me and I shake my head.

"No, but maybe in a couple weeks we can when my scan is next."

"I can't wait." Drew beams as he passes me a glass of water.

The night continues and the laughter flows as they tell me about the things Drew done as a child. He was a good kid but apparently went through this streak of mischief that once left him with a bruised rib from climbing into a tree and couldn't get down on his own but fell from one limb onto another until hitting the ground.

Drew helps me into the truck once we bid everyone a goodbye. Our hands enterwhined together while he drives and I move my head to look up at the stars that are shining bright tonight.

Once we make it home, Drew comes around and stands in front of me but isn't helping me out of the truck. The weather is nice and mild so I enjoy the air while he stares at me, I smile then look up at the stars and notice him do the same. His hand moves over mine as his holds onto mine.

"Adina?" He whispers my name and I look back at him to see him still looking at me with his loving eyes.

"Marry me?" Those are the only two words he says while I feel a cold band touch the tip of my finger.
