Addison's POV
It didn't take long for us to get there, when we did I just dropped Ari and Meredith off at the door.
"I've just got to grab some groceries, how long do you usually spend with Ellis?" I asked
"About half and hour to an hour." Meredith replied
"Perfect, I'll be back before then." I say smiling, before pulling off. It's not that I don't want to be there it's just hard plus if Meredith is going to be staying for a while I figure it might be useful to grab some extra food, I could go later with Meredith and Arizona but i something is telling me not to take Meredith food shopping, I just don't think it's a good idea.

Arizona's POV
I understand why Addison left, plus Meredith said she only wanted one of us here. I smile at Meredith and she smiles back, but it doesn't seem like a genuine smile more of a rehearsed one.
"You ready?" I ask gently, I watch as she takes a deep breath before nodding and entering the care home, I follow right behind her. I don't want to leave her but this is her thing and I don't want to interfere.
"Oh hi Meredith, I see you brought a guests today." The receptionist says smiling at Meredith.
"Hi Sandra, yes this is Arizona I work with her." Meredith answered in a sickly sweat voice I don't think I've heard her use.
"Ah, hi Arizona my names Sandra." The receptionist replies now looking at me.
"Hi Sandra nice to meet you." I say smiling.
"Meredith, I don't know if this morning is the right morning for you to bring guest you mothers having a hard morning." Sandra explains looking at Meredith. I can see Meredith tense up at the words, she looks at me almost questioning.
"It's ok I worked with Ellis when I was an intern" I lie, "I know what she can be like."
I hate lying but I felt I needed to say something.
"Very well, you know the way don't you Meredith." Sandra asks and Meredith nods
"Thank you Sandra, I'll make sure to come back past to sign out." She replies before heading off down one of the hallways.
As we reach about half way down the hallway I can hear yelling coming from one of the room.
"You insufferable intern!" The voice yells and I can see Meredith physical go tense at the sound. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's most likely Ellis yelling.
"You don't have to come in if you don't want she can be...intense." Meredith turns and says to me as we reach what I'm assuming is Ellis's room.
"No it's fine, I'm right behind." I say smiling,
Every second Meredith takes to open that door I swear I can see her body tensing more. When I can finally see inside the room I can see Ellis is yelling at anyone she's just yelling into the air. She is sitting alone in the room, it's actually quite a nice room I do have to say with a large window and a bed and a couch.
"Good morning mum." Meredith says gently. Ellis head immediately snaps towards us staring daggers.
"Meredith!" She yells, and immediately Meredith seems to crumple I can see her fighting back tears.
"I warned you not to come into the room." Ellis yelled again, I didn't know what to do I don't want to make things worse but I can't let Ellis scream at Meredith like that,
"El.." I got to say something but Meredith looks at me silently telling me not to. It's as if Ellis hadn't even noticed I'm there, I sit down carefully on the end of the bed at Meredith remains standing in front of Ellis.
"You are a stupid girl Meredith. I don't even know how I managed yo give birth to such as stupid girl." Ellis yelled again,
Meredith didn't seem to react other then the tear I could see building in her eyes.
"Mum," she said carefully moving closer to Ellis. "I'm not a little girl..." she continued but Ellis yells again cutting her off.
"Don't come any closer you little brat!! It's your fault, if I hadn't gotten pregnant with you three years ago, this wouldn't have happened. Richard wouldn't have left, now you left me with nothing. I might as well die!!" Ellis screamed, I could see Meredith fighting the tears as her mother screamed at her, I can tel now Ellis obviously doesn't realise Meredith is an adult now she is only seeing Meredith as a child her three year old daughter to be exact.
"No mum, it's not..." Meredith tries again,
"Shut up shut up!!! You stupid child!!" Ellis screams again, "come any closer and I'll kill you too!!!! I don't want to live anymore, can't you understand that you stupid girl!!!! I told you not to bother me, now you are hear, take one step closer and I'll kill you too!!! And don't even think about calling the ambulance, I don't need it, you don't need it." Ellis screams as Meredith, the battle Meredith's been fighting against the tear ends as a tears start to stream down her face.
"Mummy, please, it's not..." Meredith cries, moving closer to Ellis trying to take her hand in her own. Ellis doesn't respond at first, simply looking at the now sobbing Meredith.
"Please, I'm here look at me, I grew up I'm a surgeon." Meredith cries,
"Oh my god child stop crying." Ellis says pulling her hands away from Meredith, her demeanours changed, she seems different, Meredith just looks up at her still crying.
"I'm sorry I just.." Meredith tries to talk through sobs.
"SHUT UP!!" Ellis yells, causing Meredith to start crying more falling to her mothers feet.
"Ugh!! I don't know why Thatcher managed to convince me to have you stupid child!!! Your completely useless!!" Ellis says pushing Meredith off her feet.
"Such a waste of time and energy, your 18months old stop crying!!" Ellis yells grabbing Meredith face,
"9 months pregnant, for what, all you do it cry all day." Ellis yelled, "I wish I'd never had a child." She yelled,
I don't know what to do, Meredith clearly didn't want me to get involved but I can't keep letting Ellis yell at her like this. Ellis doesn't even realise who in front of her she's yelling at Meredith thinking she's a baby. That's it, I can't just sit here and do nothing. I quickly stand up going over to the sobbing Meredith.
"Finally, take her away!" Ellis yells at me, "I hired you as a nanny to watch the child not so you could hand the child back to me your just as useless as she is." Ellis scoffs, I quickly bend down resting my hand on Meredith shoulder, she looks up at me her eyes big and full of tears.
"Come on, we are going." I say softly helping her to stand up. As we leave the room, Meredith stand up by herself quickly wiping her tears.
"Bye mum, I'll see you tomorrow." She says but Ellis just ignores her.
As I check the time I notice it's nearly been half an hour Addison should be waiting for us outside.

As we get into the car Meredith is silent, I'm worried about her,
"How did it go?" Addie asked me quietly looking at Meredith in the back seat.
"I'll tell you more about it later right now let's just get her stuff and get back home I would be surprised if she wanted to go back to bed." I answer honestly.
Addie just looked at me and I smiled,
"You ok Meredith?" I asked, turning to look at her but she just kept quiet.
