Good mornings

Addison's POV

In the morning, I am woken by Meredith crawling into the bed, she snuggles on the other side of me, leaving me snuggled between my two babies,
"Good morning bug," I say,
"Morning Mummy," she says, "Is mamma awake?" She asks,
"Not yet bug, mamma had a hard night so she's going to sleep a bit longer, why don't you cuddle into her other side and go back to sleep for a bit, I say
"Ok mummy," Meredith says crawling over to snuggle into Arizona,

We stay there for a bit longer Meredith falls back asleep but I just watch them sleeping peacefully, it hurts me that they are both hurting, but I love that I can be there for both of them,

After a while Arizona starts to wake up,
"Good morning pumpkin," I say gently brushing the hair out of her face
"Morning Addie," she says giving me a weak smile,
"Morning mamma," Meredith chimes from her spot on the bed
"Morning bug," Arizona replies, I can tell she's feeling nervous,
"Bug, we need to talk to you for a second," I say, and Meredith looks at me scared
"Did I do something wrong?" She asks
"No baby girl, it's actually me we need to talk about," Arizona replies sitting up,
"Bug come sit in between us," I say and Meredith moves between the two of us, "Mamma has been struggling just like you," I start, squeezing Arizona's hand,
"Do you mean like she used to?" Meredith asks
"Yeah bug, I'm not doing well, I relapsed," Arizona explains
"Oh," Meredith replies not really knowing how to respond
"And so honey, I'm going to get some help," Arizona continues, and I am so proud of her
"From Dr Wyatt?" Meredith asks and I can see Ari is struggling to continue,
"Kinda bug, Dr Wyatt is going to help but Mamma feels like she needs more help than just Dr Wyatt, so she's going to go stay at the hospital for a bit," I say
"No... where Derek make me go, no that place is scary, I don't want mamma to go there," Meredith replied clinging onto Arizona's top,
"No baby girl, it's not like that, first of all Richard fired Derek so he's not there anymore but also this will be different, Derek lied and took you there against your will and made the whole experience very traumatic for you, that's not what's going to happen with mamma, ok? Mamma is going there herself to get help and she will have the nice doctors that helped you at the end." I explain,
"But we can look after her, she doesn't need to go to the hospital," Meredith said
"Baby girl, I know it's hard but it won't be the same when I go I promise, what Derek did was so wrong that he is having to face the board and risking loosing his licence. He made it traumatising but it doesn't need to be, I just need help and mummy needs to focus on you." Arizona explains looking down at Meredith.
"Baby girl, I promise I will come home to you and mummy, but if I don't go and get the help I need I can't promise I won't loose this internal fight." Arizona says and I can see the tears in her eyes, my heart breaking as she explains, I know she's right but it hurts to hear it put like that.
Meredith thinks for a moment,
"Ok mamma, I understand but promise you'll come home to me and mummy?" She asks her big eyes looking up at Arizona
"I promise bug." Arizona says letting her tears fall,

Arizona and Meredith cuddle on the bed while I get up to pack a bag for Arizona, I know it'll be hard but she wants to go today, eventually I get the bag packed and get both Meredith and Arizona to eat something before it's time to drive Arizona to the hospital.

A week later

"We going to see Mamma today?" Meredith asks as I help her put her shoes on,
"Yes baby girl," I reply smiling,

Arizona's been doing better since she got there, I know we made the right decision.
"Will she play with me?" Meredith asks as I
"Probably bug," I say smiling, we have been to see Arizona nearly every day, and I can see Meredith getting more comfortable with walking into the psych unit,

When we get there Arizona is writing in her journal, at first she didn't see us,
"Mamma," Meredith cheered jumping up onto her bed,
"Oh hi bug, how are you?" She asks closing her journal and putting it off to the side.
"I'm good mummy and I did some craft yesterday, we made some love heart out of paper and then tied them to string, they are in mummy's bag for your window so you can think of us after we go home." Meredith said excited as she cuddled into Arizona

"Meredith honey we were going to surprise mamma with those" I say laughing,
"Sorry, I was just too excited" Meredith says
"It's ok bug, can I see them?" Zona asked laughing,

We spend most of the afternoon there, at one point Arizona regresses, playing with the toys that I'd brought to her room,
Eventually I can see they are both tired,
"Ok bug it's probably time to head home." I say smiling,
"Ok, we come back and see mamma tomorrow?" She says, starting to pack up her toys
"We have work tomorrow bug but we can come visit mamma at lunch how does that sound?" I ask smiling,
"Yeah that sounds good mummy, is that ok mamma?" Meredith asks looking at Arizona
"Yeah baby girl, that sounds fine," Zona says laughing,
"Ok baby girl do you need the bathroom before you leave?" I ask smiling at Ari,
"Yeah but I go myself" Meredith said jumping off Meredith bed and running down the hall to the bathroom,
"Thank you Addie," Ari says looking at me
"You don't need to thank you Zona, I love you, are you feeling better?" I ask sitting next to her
"Yeah, I am, I think Dr Wyatt is going to start me on some medication to help," she says playing with me hand
"I'm glad baby, remember I'm here for you even if I'm not physically in the room with you." I say smiling.
"I know, my love thank you. Can I kiss you?" She says leading into me,
"Of course you can baby," I say gently kissing her
"Hey I want kisses," Meredith said laughing,
"Of course baby girl come here," I say laughing as Meredith leaps into the bed as Zona and I pepper her face in kisses.
