Silent Drives

Addison's POV

I'm not sure what happened with Ellis but I can tell it wasn't good. Meredith hasn't spoken since she got in the car, it took us a bit longer than I had expected to get to Meredith house, no wonder she's always late having to drive all the way over to her mum every morning.
I'm glad she gave me the address this morning there is no way I would have been able to get an answer of out her right now.
When we finally arrive at her house I'm impressed it's quite large and there is a car parked out the front. I turn to look at Meredith who silently unbuckles and starts to get out.
"Wait Meredith, is it ok if either myself or Ari comes in with you?" I ask I don't want to push her right now
"Um... well Izzie's home so I um would um no um she um will asked questions." She answered shyly stumbling over her words. I don't really want to let her go inside alone but if we push her I think it will make it work, before I can say anything Arizona speaks up.
"Ok that's fine, you can go in, we will wait here but if your not out in 15min one of us will come check on you, how does that sound?" Ari asked smiling at Meredith.
"Ok." Meredith replied before walking up the the house.

Meredith's POV
That's the worst my mother has been in ages, she doesn't normally relive certain days but I remember that day the day she tried to kill herself. I sat on the floor waiting until she passed out so I could call 911. I'll never forget that day.
As I entered the house I can hear Izzie singing in the kitchen, I don't know if I have the energy to deal with her right now. I silently walked up the stairs to my room, happy for one that Izzie played music while she baked.
I quickly grabbed a duffel bag and started grabbing some clothes, I don't even know why I'm doing this, I'm a grown adult I don't need to do what they say, but something inside me is telling me to do it anyway. As I grab one of the hoodies from my wardrobe I feel something hard underneath it, as I check what is was I see my box of blades, I'd forgotten I'd put that there, god I could really use it right now but if I take too long Arizona or Addison will come in and it will be a whole thing. I quickly wrap up the bow inside the hoodie before stuffing it in my bag, I know as soon as Addison remembers she had blades in the bathroom she will remove them so I need to have my own stash the one in Addison's draw and the one in my pocket won't be enough.
I quickly grab the last of my things before silently making my way back down the stairs. I can still hear Izzie in the kitchen. I quickly sneak out the door and can see Arizona and Addison still sitting in the car, I'm glad Izzie didn't realise I was back she's lovely as a friend but I don't have the patience for her today.

Meanwhile Addison's POV

"So what happened in there Ari, obviously it wasn't good." I ask turning to Arizona as soon as Meredith is out of ear shot.
"I told you I'd tell you when we got home we don't have time now I think there is more we need to unpack within what happened." Arizona responds looking at me, I can see in her face she's worried about Meredith,
"Please Ari, it's stressing me out I'm worried about her and you, you where in there too." I say gently resting my hand on hers. I watch as she takes a big sigh before starting to talk again.
"I'm fine, Ellis barley even realise I was in there. Until I pulled Meredith out, it's wasn't good Ellis pretty much just screamed at Meredith the whole time, and Meredith tried to calm her down at first but eventually she just broke down and I had to pull her out of there I couldn't watch it any longer. I'll tell you exactly what she said when we get home cause it's not my story to tell so I need Meredith to be there when I share it." Arizona explained,
I didn't know how to respond I knew it wasn't good but that sounds horrific.
"Ok, thank you Ari." I say smiling taking her hand in mine, the rest of the time Meredith's inside we just sit in silence enjoying each other's company. Just as 15minutes was approaching I was getting ready to go in search of Meredith she exited the house duffel bag thrown over her shoulder. I quickly jumped out to grab the bag, throwing it in the trunk.
"How are you feeling Meredith." I ask as she climbed into the backseat and I restarted the car.
"I'm fine." She answered bluntly before looking down, after sharing a look with Arizona I decided to drop it.

The drive home went faster than I expected, as we pulled in I could see Meredith nearly falling asleep in the back of the car, Ari must have been correct.
"Meredith let's quickly get your stuff inside and then you can take a quick nap, how does that sound?" I asked unlocking the front door.
"I think some extra sleep could do us all well, it's was an early morning this morning." Arizona added, I smiled at her, sometimes it concerns me how similarly we think.
I walk with Meredith into my room, before placing her duffel down on the bed.
"I'll clear some place in the drawers for you, is there anything you brought that needs to be hung up I ask?" Moving a pile a legging in my drawer.
As I pick up the leggings, I silently sigh seeing a blade beneath them, how did she even manage to get that. If she's hiding one I wouldn't be surprised if she's hiding more. I don't want to upset her or accuse her of anything but I need to know she's safe in the room and she isn't as long as she has access to blades. As I turn around with the blade in my hand I see her face go white

Meredith's POV
