⚠️TW- self-harm

Addison's POV
"Crap, Ari where is she?" I ask as we continue to search for Meredith. Stupid heels, I couldn't keep up with her.
"I know Addie, I know, hand be quiet." Arizona suddenly says, and she looks at me eyes wide. "Do you hear that?" She asked
"Hear what?" I ask confused,
"Shh," she replied quietly walking towards the door to one of the storage rooms, carefully we both rest our head on the door trying to hear sounds from the inside. As I look at Arizona I know she can hear it to, there are small sobs coming from the other side.
"Should we go in?" Arizona whispered,
"We have to if my feelings right.." I start to answer but can't bring myself to finish.
Carefully I start to open the door and immediately we can hear shuffling inside.
"Meredith?" I ask gently as we open the door, the room inside is dark and Arizona reaches for the light, we both have to hold back a gasp when the light comes on, I can't quite see Meredith but I can hear the sobs from further in the room but there is blood on the floor. Crap my feeling was right. I look at Arizona before walking further into the room.
"Meredith we know your in here, we just want to help." Arizona cooes beside me as we get closer to Meredith.
My heart drops when we finally reach her after what feels like forever, her tiny frame is curled in on itself tucked into the corner. Sobs escape her small form with such force she's shaking. I look at Arizona before bending down next to her, she flinched slightly as I rested my hand on her shoulder.
"It's ok it's only me and Arizona." I coo, before looking back to Arizona we can both see the scalpel discarded on the ground, and both know what's happened but if we push her she'll run and we need to help her.
I feel Arizona bend down next to me,
"Meredith, can you show me your arms?" She asks gently, the sobbing stops and for a minute I'm worried she's going to bolt again but slowly she lifts her head from her arms, her teary eyes meeting mine.
"I didn't mean to do it that deep," she cries before starting to sob again.
"Hey, hey it's ok, just show me and Addie you arms so we can help." Arizona cooes, reaching behind her to grab a suture kit. Meredith's sobbing doesn't stop but she lifts her head again looking between me and Arizona before slowly unfolding her arms. As I look at them I can see scars lining all the way up and down her inner arms, stopping right where her sleeves normally do. Some of them look older than other but as I can see fresh ones that are bleeding quite a lot actually. I stand up quickly to grab a gauze pad before returning to my spot next to Meredith. She continues to cry as Arizona and I work together to stitch up her cuts. She was right these are deep, deep enough that they need stitches as I look at Arizona I know she's thinking the same thing as me. We've only got numbing cream to put on the area.
"Meredith, we need to go to an exam room so Arizona can stitch up your arms," I try to explain to the small girl as she confined to sob, but as she hears me she quickly retracts her arms curling back into a ball. Arizona and I share a look, technically yes we should report this but I don't think it would do Meredith any good right now.
"Ok, ok hey, hey it's ok, we can do it here, but we've only got numbing cream and these cuts do need stitches, is that ok?" Arizona asks gently reaching for Meredith's arm, slowly Meredith extends her arm again nodding slightly.
Arizona looks at me before applying the numbing cream. Meredith looks at me and I can see in her eyes she scared, carefully I reach out pulling her into me lap, at first she resists but eventually she just sits there letting me hold her. Slowly Arizona stitches up the cuts as I hold a still sobbing Meredith.
After what feels like a life-time, Arizona is done but Meredith is still crying, she can't go to work like this. Arizona gets up to clear away the suture kits and suddenly I feel my phone buzz in my pocket.
She can't work like this, take her home I'll go tell the chief then I'll come home and help you.
It's a message from Arizona, sometimes it does concern my how much we think the same but she's right.
"Meredith, I'm going to take you home for the day ok? Arizona is going to talk to Richard." I explain, her sobbing has stopped now to only small whimpers but she nods quietly.
"Do you need anything from your locker room? Ari can grab it for you?" I ask gently but she just shakes her head.
"Ok, come on we will go out the back way I'm parked out the back anyway." I explain gently, standing up before helping Meredith. For once I'm glad about Arizona insistence that we come in different cars, I help Meredith into the car before starting the journey home.

Arizona's POV
After I've cleaned away the suture kit and everything else in the storage room. I make my way up to Richards office. I'm not quite sure what to say, it's quite clear Meredith doesn't want everyone to know she's struggling but I'm awful at lying. Before I know it I'm knocking on Richards door.
"Come in," he calls, "oh hi Dr Robbins what can I do for you?" He asks
Crap, what am I going to say.
"Um.."
"Is everything ok Dr Robbins?" He asks concerned.
"Um yes no, um. Meredith, um Dr Grey isn't feeling very well. Addi..Dr Montgomery found her sick just before she's taken her home. And um, im not feeling very well myself so I need to go home as well." I say hoping he will believe me. I see his face soften as soon as I mention Meredith's name.
"Of course, is Meredith ok?" He asks concerned,
"I believe so, um, Dr Montgomery didn't really say much." I lie,
"Ok well, yes that's fine you can go home. Please let Dr Montgomery she's excused as well and let Mer..Dr Grey know I hope she feels better soon." He says smiling.
Well that was easier then expected I sigh, leaving the room.
