WHAT IS the point of having a mouth if we can't use it? I'm going to drink until I can't feel the pain. I'll drown out the memories with these damn drinks until I forget what I saw earlier. I thought I'd enjoy those chismiss, but they turned out to be a shitty, ridiculous, funny news story.
How to forget that thing? Drink all the margaritas around the bar. You know, the good kind of therapy.
“Cheers, ladies!” -I shouted.
“Cheers, girls!”
“Yohoooo!”
“You guys are so drunk.”
Natawa ako sa sinabi ni Nicole, “What?”
“You're drunk,” -tinuro niya ako. “Lalo ka na.”
God. She looks like my mommy talaga, palagi akong binabantayan akala mo naman mapapano ako. Duh? Uminom lang naman ako. There's nothing to be worried about.
I tapped her shoulder, giving her an assurance. “I'm okay, okay?” -I gave her a thumbs up. “You see this thumb? I'm all damn good, I can still control myself, see? I'm fine,” -I raised my glass. “Cheers?”
She shook her head.
“Cheers.”
“Yey! This is gonna be fun!”
I playfully flipped my hair when I heard the song. This place exudes a Hollywood vibe, which is amusing, considering there seems to be no other Filipinos here besides me and my friends. Everyone around us is from different countries, and I quite enjoy the diversity of this place.
What a surreal world! Every corner of this place is unbelievably cool. I could imagine living here forever, no lie.
“Time check girls,” -Nyxiee grabbed her phone. “1:45 am.”
I wagged my brows. “And that means?”
“Walang uuwi hanggat hindi tayo nalulumpo!”
Natawa ako nang makita ang lasing na pagmumukha ni Jillian. Wala talagang uuwi, I will never leave this bar until morning—well, bakit naman ako uuwi kung pwedi naman dito matulog?
We ordered a round of hard drinks. Gusto kasi talaga namin na gumapang sa sahig. And I know it was a stupid idea. It sounds funny, but we don't care. We just want to have fun. Enjoying this night with my friend can make me forget all the crap that happened to me. No worries about the outside world, family, career, and most of all, men.
“No boyfriend to worry about?” -I asked Nyx. “Hmm?”
“Nope. No boyfriend.”
I turned my gaze to Jill. “And you?”
“He's busy.”
“Oh?”
“Cheating,” -she added.
Napatanga ako sa sinabi niya.
“Seriously?”
She nodded. “Fúck yeah,” -she raised her glass. “Mga kasapi talaga sila ni Adan, bwisit.”
Itinaas ko ang baso ko. “I agree.”
Mabuti naman may kakampi ako sa kabaliwan. Hindi lang pala si Nicks at ako ang may problema. This is what I love about this friendship, ka-miserablehan ng isa, ka-miserablehan ng lahat. How should I enjoy this night kung ako lang yong broken?
Ah, god, naalala ko na naman ang nakita ko kanina sa net. That Glenn Klay, he's a damn cheater! Napaka talaga! Yes, we're not in a relationship together pero the fact na nagpapahalik sya sa babaeng 'yon sapat na para tawagin syang manloloko. Friends pala ha? Utot niya! Fúck you sya mula dito hanggang universe.
