The last couple days have been amazing, even if busy. I have moved in with Adina. Not that it took long since I didn't have many items and mainly clothing with some furniture.

Today though, Mom had asked for me to come over to dinner with the family since even my older brother is in town. It is the first time that Adina is going to be coming with me and she is still overly nervous about it but I have assured her they will love her.

"Drew!" Adina sighs from the bedroom.

"Yes, little deer?" I walk in and see her with nothing on but a bra and panties, along with her boot. Hopefully that gets to come off within another week.

"What do I wear?"

I shrug. "The normal clothes you always do."

She sighs and grabs a pair of loose jeans with a t-shirt. I watch by leaning on the door frame of the bedroom. Although, I prefer seeing her bump I am not going to say anything about the loose fitting clothes.

In no time, I have Adina in my truck and drive to my parents house.

"I hadn't ever seen them outside of the shop and I never officially talked with your Mom." Adina wrings her hands together.

"She will love you just as she does Margot." I smile and take her hand in mine, just as we pull into their driveway.

I get out of the truck and run around to help her out. The last thing I want is her putting weight on her ankle hurting it again when it is so close to being completely healed.

My hand turns the door knob and Adina clutches to my free hand. "Breath, little deer."

"I never was good with meeting the parents before." She mutters. I stop and turn to look at her. "With his parents before when I had met them it went downhill and then they were always to busy. Part of me thinks it is because I didn't come from money."

"That isn't the case here Adina, I can promise that."

She nods and takes a deep breath.

We go inside and Mom comes running for me with her hands covered in a towel. Her arms go around me and squeeze me tight. "Hi Mom."

"It is nice to see you and you as well Adina. I'm sorry we hadn't got to talk much."

"It is nice meeting you officially too." Adina blushes and then Mom pulls her into a hug too. I watch as Adina keeps her body away from Mom's but hugs her back.

"How is the ankle?" Dad walks up and hugs her next. He has spoke with her the most since he doesn't bake as hard as Mom does.

"Almost healed up, next week the boot can come off." Adina nods with a smile.

"You come on in here and take a seat. Dinner will be done within twenty minutes." Mom pulls Adina with her and I see Margot in the kitchen placing things on the table.

"Want a beer?" Eager pops up from the couch.

"No, thanks though." I shake my head with a smile.

"Chas will be here soon." Dad pats my back. "He is supposed to be home for a bit I think before the next case."

"What is it he does?" Adina asks as she takes a seat on the couch opposite of Eager and I join her. I heard when Mom changed her mind from the kitchen chair to the couch for Adina, telling her to rest.

"He is a traveling lawyer." Dad answers her.

"Yeah makes it to easy for him to get the girls and not settle down." Eager mumbles and I nod.

Mom brings out some glasses of soda.

"Thank you." Adina smiles.

Mom's cat jumps up and Adina smiles wide. "Gus." She pets him as he cuddles up to her.

"That is a first." Eager laughs. "He doesn't tend to let many people pet on him."

"Oh, Gus and I are good friends now. He was a little tough at first but after some treats he warmed right up to me." Adina smiles.

"She is the pet groomer that Tadana hired." Mom smiles. "I may not get to talk much but her and I always talk when I take him to be groomed or she comes in early on her days off to the bakery."

"Tadana is like a grandmother to Sephia and I at the shop." Adina laughs when Gus purrs then licks her fingers. "I don't have any treats for you this time big guy. Where is the bathroom, if you don't mind?"

"Not at all dear, follow me and I will show you where it is at since I need to get back to the kitchen." Mom smiles and takes her hand once I help push her back off the couch.

"How is the move going?" Dad asks.

"Good, I already got everything moved in." I nod and we all talk about how their bakery is going once Adina makes it back to me.

As another ten minutes of talking passes, Mom calls out. "Dinner is ready!"

I help Adina stand up and she laughs lightly. "The couch sits so low to the ground and soft it is like I melted into it."

"Drew, I made yours and Eager's favorite tonight." Mom smiles when we walk into the kitchen to the table.

"What about Chas?" Adina asks.

"He will eat just about anything." Dad laughs.

I push Adina's chair up and then sit next to her. Mom places the meat on the table and I grimace since I wasn't thinking beforehand. Adina covers her mouth and gets up from the table quickly with an 'excuse me'. I watch as she rushes to the bathroom.

"Is she okay?" Mom looks with wide eyes.

"She hasn't been able to handle shrimp since the morning sickness ended still." I reply when getting up from the table to make sure Adina is okay.

"Drew Livingston Maxell!" Mom all but screams and stops me in my tracks. "What do you mean morning sickness?"

"Dear, I told you she was pregnant." Dad mumbles.

"I thought it was another customer." Mom covers her mouth. "I am going to be a grandmother." She looks to me with a wide smile. "How far along is she?" Mom asks.

"I promise to answer your questions but I really need to check on Adina." I walk to the bathroom where I hear Adina wrenching into the toilet.
