Vows.

Crap!

I knew I was not completely ready and the words have just escaped me for the last month when we planned to say our vows. It is hard to get words to describe just how much I love Adina. How can some words even be enough when it runs so deep through me?

Our wedding is set to beginning within an hour and I have yet to figure them out.

Why is it hot in here?

"Yo man. You're looking a little freaked." Lumie walks up and pats my back.

"Dude! My vows, I haven't found the right words to say yet and I am supposed to be standing at the front waiting for her to walk down the aisle in an hour."

Lumie laughs. "Give me that paper." He takes it out of my hands once I pulled the crumpled paper from my wallet that I been carrying around working or trying to work on the vows from the moments I had between calls during work so that Adina couldn't get a peak before the wedding.

Adina has blossomed when more in the last eight weeks since we found out we are having a baby boy. She is now twenty-six weeks pregnant and her bump has grown quite a bit but she looks even more beautiful each and every day.

We were going to get married a couple weeks back but her dress hadn't came in from where they ordered it online since when they went to another town they didn't have anything for her. So with no dress and without the Captain to marry us since he got stuck with an extra shift at the station we had to postpone it to today. Thankfully the weather has still been on our side and a little warmer than normal for this time of year with it being the middle of October.

"Drew." Lumie actually says my name and I look over to him from where I had looked down in thought but also checking to make sure my slacks are on right, because in my excitement but nervous state it wouldn't surprise me if I put them on backwards.

"What? Is my fly open?" I look down again. Am I not paying enough attention?

"Drew." Lumie's laugh stops me from the freak out. "It is closed and you need to breath and chill. You are so nervous and there isn't a reason to be." His smile is kind.

I let out a breath and then a small voice in my head counters what he says with negative. "Am I enough though? What if there is someone else better for her?"

"Like who?" Jackson's voice speaks up as he rounds the corner into the open door frame. "My sister couldn't ask for anyone better than you. Trust me, I know she loves you with all her heart and having just spoke to her she is beyond ready to marry you. Adina is so happy and glowing today. I couldn't be any happier for the both of you."

"What did she think about the little gift?" I ask letting out a breath as I calm knowing she is happy. That is all I ever want for her.

"She absolutely loved the gift and has placed it immediately." Jackson smiles with a nod. "How does it feel getting ready to say your vows?"

I blank. "It feels so surreal that I have the love of my life fixing to take my last name as we make our vows in front of everyone we hold dear. It is more than vows but my devotion to her. Loyal, loving, never-ending for her in anything she may need or want. To make sure I am there even if she doesn't realize it helping her in anything that I can do. To let the rest of our lives be full of love."

A breath lets out and then a whistle. "Damn man. That right there is your vows. Without a thought and spoke from the heart." Lumie smirks.

My mouth goes slack. "You are right." I laugh and can't believe how it just came out then.

Jackson smiles when I look at him and then get a thought. "When the sane heck you proposing anyhow? We thought when you guys went out the night we found the gender we would get the news from you the next day."

He smiles and his cheeks heat up. "It was the plan but when I pulled the ring out when she wasn't looking I noticed a stone gone. So I have been trying to find another good time when she isn't thinking of it. Adina says I should do it today."

"I agree with her." I laugh and his eyes go wide.

"No this is your and Adina's day."

I shrug. "It is a day for everyone too as we are just showing our love in front of everyone and making it a solid marriage with vows." Then smile as I look at the clock and see the minutes are ticking down. We sit around and talk over random things. My dad and brothers step in and check making sure I got ready and wishing me luck.

"Time for me to go see my sister gets to you safely." Jackson smiles then pats my back before going to Adina's room to walk her down the aisle to me.

"Come on man let's make sure you get out there to wait on your love." Lumie pats my back and Dad gives me a side hug.

"Proud of you son " Dad pats my shoulder and then I see when he joins Mom in the little gathering since we all decided to stand rather than finding chairs for everyone to sit outside.

The flower arch helps to shade the area some and my eyes zero in on Adina has she walks towards me and the Captain doing our ceremony. Jackson places her hand in mine and the Captain starts the ceremony.

When the time comes. I repeat the exact some words to Adina as I had said in the room earlier. "I can promise my love to you forever with anything life brings our way as we do it together. Today is just a reminder as my devotion to you with all I have said." I finish the rest of my vows and then slip the ring on her finger.

"Drew." Adina smiles as her eyes have unshed tears she blinks back. "My love for you is never-ending and you surprise me constantly with how thoughtful you are, it makes me strive to be the best I can for you. My heart feels so full with my love for you and I can only hope that it shows everyday for the rest of our lives together."

She slips the ring on my finger.

Before the Captain can pronounce us married, my lips find hers and everyone laughs.

"Jumping to quick there son." I hear Dad call out with a laugh.

"I pronounce you husband and wife." The Captain laughs. "No need for me to say further you got the memo before it was spoken." He chuckles and everyone claps as we pull back from the kiss.
