Chapter 38: Rich at Last

About a week had passed since Y/N and Kazuma returned to Axel when the party was summoned to the guild for "something important".

Now, usually when the party is summoned to the guild, it's bad news.

Thus, the ones to go were Y/N and Kazuma, while the girls stayed behind in the mansion to prepare for the worst.

So, standing before the guild staff with Luna in the middle...

Luna: "Well then, adventurers Y/N L/N-san and Satou Kazuma-san. The reason your party was called here today..."

As the bros were being watched by every adventurer in the guild, Luna presented a hefty bag full of coins.

Luna: "The pay-out was delayed due to the amount we had to prepare... For the subjugation of the Demon King's general, Sylvia, your party receives the bounty of three hundred million eris! Please accept this, our ace adventurers!"

As per usual, the adventurers erupted into cheers.

Kazuma, who had a nervous expression, smiled calmly as he grabbed the bag.

Kazuma: "Hey, take it easy, guys. It's not like this is the first time we've taken out a bounty target, y'know? Really, three hundred million eris is... Hmm? Hey, let go. I'm holding it tightly, so it won't drop if you do. Hey!"

Holding onto the three hundred million eris like her life was on the line, Luna struggled to let such a large sum go.

Eventually, like a brute, Kazuma yanked it away from her.

Adventurer 1: "But seriously, Kazuma's party has taken out four generals already. I was worried they'd get wiped out in less than a month, but they're on par with the big shots from the capital now."

Adventurer 2: "I know right? They couldn't even handle Giant Toads in the beginning, and they slept out in the stables as well. To be so successful and rich in less than a year of adventuring..."

Adventurer 3: "No, I was always sure they'd hit it big eventually."

Adventurer 4: "You literally have a betting table about whether Y/N or Kazuma dies first, shut up."

Adventurer 3: "The stakes are high for a reason."

Y/N: 'This town really is full of idiots...'

As the adventurers kept on glazing and slandering the boys, Kazuma turned towards them with a serious face.

Kazuma: "Hey, now. Praising us like that won't get you anything..."

Y/N: "No, I think most of them are mocking us."

Kazuma: ".... Except a free round of the best booze this joint offers!"

The cheers suddenly got louder upon hearing Kazuma's cocky words.

Adventurer 6: "Kazuma's the boss! Marry me and feed me for life!"

Kazuma: "You're on!"

Adventurer 7: "Take care of me, too!"

Kazuma: "Gladly!"

Exasperated, Y/N stared at Kazuma who was quickly surrounded by adventurers.

Y/N: 'Guess I should go get the girls. Seems like there's a party tonight.'
