Chapter 37: Farewell to this Spoiled Princess

(Heya. Been a while, again. This chapter's not as long as others, but surely that's fine. There's also some more of my own stuff, so that's something. But without further ado, please enjoy the chapter.)

Upon returning to Y/N and Kazuma's inn room, Kazuma and Chris removed their masks. Looking at their loot, both formed victorious smiles on their faces.

Chris: "Successful mission, Kazuma-kun! I knew I could count on you and Y/N-kun!"

Kazuma: "No problem, Chris. That turned out to be quite fun, actually."

Chris: "I still don't know what got into you and Y/N, but it worked out in the end."

Kazuma: "I'm not the one who decided to beat up a noble."

Chris answered with a simple shrug. Sitting on the bed, she spoke up.

Chris: "Say, where did he go?"

Kazuma: "He said something about needing to piss. Didn't feel like waiting for him, so I left."

Chris: "Ah, I see. Here's hoping he didn't choose the side of the castle for that."

Elite pissing spot.

As these two talked without a care in the world, the streets outside were filled with guards. Vigorously looking for the trio of thieves, they wouldn't rest until every corner of the capital was thoroughly searched.

That's to be expected after they broke into the royal castle, assaulted the knights and guards, beat up a noble, and stole items of extreme value.

All of which was totally deserved.

The silver-haired thief and the one with a mid name didn't get to speak long before there was a knock on the door.

Kazuma: "That's probably him. Who else would be here at this time of night?"

Without thinking much about it, Kazuma opened the door, expecting to see the insane idiot behind it.

Instead.

Darkness was behind the door.

Unluckily for the two of them, it wasn't literal darkness.

At the back of the room, Chris backed up on the bed as Darkness calmly grabbed Kazuma's head and lifted him up with one hand.

Kazuma: "Ow ow ow ow! D-Darkness?! What are you doing here?!"

Darkness: "You know very well why I'm here! Where's the other one?! I want all of you in this room right now!"

Never before has Darkness looked this angry. Kazuma still in her iron claw, she walked further into the room and looked around, trying to spot Y/N.

Chris: "D-Darkness, just listen! We can explain, okay?! J-Just calm down and we'll explain everything!"

Darkness: "Where is he?! Where is that absolute numbskull?! I'm not listening to anything until he's here!"

Kazuma: "H-He stopped somewhere to take a piss! Ow, that hurts! Darkness, my head's gonna explode! Ease off!"

With her free hand, Darkness pulled the bed Chris was sitting on to grab her by the head as well.

What insane strength, truly a muscle headed girl.

Chris: "Dark-Darkness! I can't talk like this! Why do you need to hold me like this, as well?!"

Darkness: "I'm holding you both like this until that imbecile arrives! Better get comfy!"

And that she did.

Fortunately for Kazuma and Chris, the window creaked open mere minutes later.

A dark-clad figure with glowing hair and a weird mask stepped in from the window, holding something resembling a weirdly shaped box.
