CHAPTER XXXVIV

"Tell me something that scares you," Eva asked as she lay on his chest unable to move.

She thought he hadn't heard her when he didn't answer and she glanced up from her comfy position.

She yelped as he suddenly sat up.

"You and Dylan." He said deadpan and she couldn't help her confused "huh," in reply.

"I've been alone for so long and before that the only parental style my dad showed was beating the shit out of me until I was quiet. If I ever..." he trailed off looking generally panicked at the thought.

"You won't," she said instantly, hating that this weighed on him.

"But what if I'm like him?" He asked his voice small and unlike she'd ever heard it.

"You aren't. I love you and I couldn't ever love anyone that I didn't feel safe around. You" she kissed him, "make me feel safe." She said and kissed him again.

He broke off though. "But what if-"

"It won't happen. I trust you. I love you."

He went to interrupt, doubt still swimming in his eyes. "Trust me," she pleaded and after a moment of hesitation his shoulders sank.

She leaned forward and smiled against his lips as he returned the kiss this time. Twinning her arms around his head she clutched him tighter, body already buzzing for another round.

"Marry me?" he said, pulling back from her lips. Her mouth dropped open in shock and he panicked. "No, don't answer, I'll do it properly. Don't answer." He pulled her back to him and tried to kiss the question away. For a moment it worked but she pulled back and he looked scared into her eyes.

"Yes," she said. "The answer will be yes," she said grinning.

He matched her grin with one of his own.

"I love you," he said but her words of love were lost as his lips surged forwards. "I'll do it properly," he whispered into her ear. He couldn't wait to get down on one knee and spill out his soul.

"The answer will still be yes," she said as she moaned under his mouth's attack. They'd barely stopped since her party apart from catching a nap or snack from the leftovers. She didn't think that she would ever get enough though as he entered her and her toes curled at the sensation.

"Say it when I'm on one knee," he said, nibbling her ear.

"I can't wait," she said but then words were lost as he captured her lips.
