I decided not to run for this morning since I am going somewhere, I am already dressed up with my skinny jeans and shirt, I brush my hair into a high ponytail while I wait for my mom and Joe to go out before I could go down, I don't like to ruin my day by seeing them. I waited for another hour, when I peeked through my window, I saw them carrying large suitcases, I furrowed my brows, where are they going?
I saw my mom lifted her head looking at my window, I hurriedly turned my back at it. I heard Joe's car leave but I waited for a few minutes before I went down, surprisingly the house is clean
"Well that's a first" I murmur to myself, I went out and locked our door, I decided to go to a local cake shop to buy a small cake, avoiding to pass by at our bakery, I can't guarantee if I will not be emotional if I will see it.
"Good morning Eli!" Benny greeted me when I came inside their store, he is the baker and owner of it
"Good morning Benny! How's Suzie?" I asked him, Suzie is his two year old child that I adore so much
"She's fine, she have full of energy!" He chuckled
"The usual?" He asked, as I check on the cakes displayed
"Yes please!" I smiled, he then nods and grabbed the small black forest cake and went at the back
I always come here after my birthday and order the same cake, Benny came back holding a small box
"Here you go Eli, and here's a cup of your favorite iced coffee as a gift" he winked at me
"Thank you Benny, you shouldn't have" I smile at him as I take my order and paid for it
"Not a problem Eli, you only celebrate your birthday once!" He smile and I went out to go to my usual flower shop, I really do love flowers, and who wouldn't?My favorite is always a red rose, I inhaled the sweet roses that are displayed in front before going to the counter
"Can I have three bouquet of red roses?" I smiled at the lady, she nods and prepared my order. I look around the room and I can see different kinds of flowers, peonies, tulips, carnations, daisy all with different colors. I really wanted to have my own flower shop, but I sucked at doing bouquets, but I really love receiving one too.
"Here you go dear" the lady called me and I paid for it, crap bouquets are expensive, I am glad that I do have an online part time job that I do, thank God for technology and flexibility.
After I gathered everything I need, and went to the place that I visit every after my birthday. I walked at the grass and went to my dad and siblings grave.
"Hello dad, Emily and Tim" I greeted at their marble slab, I placed each of the roses in it
"Here Emily I know you love flowers baby girl" I said as I sat down in the grass, I glanced at my father's stone grave
"And dad can't you believe it I'm already 18!" I chuckled. Then I look and touched his gravestone and I read the letters engrave to it
"James Reed. A loving husband and father" I whispered. I love my parents, but dad and I shared a special bond. He always get me flowers and cake during my birthday and he makes sure that he's at home to celebrate it with us. My eyes begin to wet when I remembered my last birthday with him
"You are growing so fast my princess" Dad kissed my cheeks as he gave my flower and cake
"Black Forest! My favorite! Thanks Dad" he chuckled
"Anything for my princess" I hugged him and he drew out a slim box from his pockets, then gave it to me
"Dad you shouldn't have" I pulled the locket out from the box and I wear it around my neck. We both admire it at my vanity mirror
