Before we used to go to each other's houses with our own toys, coloring paper, and enjoying cookies and milk. It's amazing how quickly time passes, since now we're at Ash's house instead of toys and books we are with our own boyfriends—I'll just use that term for Travis because he's currently Ash's partner. Rob came behind me while I was washing the vegetables in the kitchen sink.
"Jayson is fine" he whispered. Jayson wanted to know all the details, so Rob took it from there. He explained to Jayson everything like what he said to my grand father, I left them because I don't want to listen to the horrors I went through again
"He's mad that I was not honest enough with him" I turned to look at him, he shake his head and smiled
"No Eli, he understands" he assured me, then he pulled me in to a kiss, just then Jayson entered the kitchen
"Mr. Bailey" Jayson gasped, we immediately separated I immediately went at Rob's back, but he just slides his hands on my waist pulling me closer
"Hey Jayson relax we do that all the time" Missy hissed at him as he saw the surprised looked of her boyfriend
"Why is it weird seeing your teacher kissing your friend?" Travis teased Jayson, but his eyes is at Rob
"I swear Travis if you don't shut up I will throw you out" Rob said as he placed the vegetables I just washed on the table
"You'll get used to it Jayson, I saw the worst" Ash chimed in carrying the meats to grill
"I am going to leave all of you if you guys will not stop" I said, I heard Travis laugh "I'm serious" I shot him my deadpan look at them
"Okay Eli, relax!" Travis said raising his hands up
They went outside to grill the meat as Rob stayed with me to do the roasted vegetables. My phone rings and I placed it on speaker phone as I am peeling the potatoes
"Is this Ms. Reed?" A man said on the phone
"Who are you?" I scowled at my phone
"It's Mr. I mean Alex" he said on the other line, what now? Rob and I looked at each other
"Yeah?" I asked him
"Your grand father wanted to let you know about something" he started taking a deep breath
"Then where he is? Why you are the one talking to me?" I rolled my eyes
"He's currently in a meeting and he wanted to let you know before the news come out" he said as a matter of fact, I furrowed my brows because I really don't watch the news
"Cut with all those just spit it out, I know it's important if it's not" I replied, I feel a knot in my stomach anticipating the worst
"Joe Garcia is now in the custody of the police, he was caught last night and he told everything about Jack's gang" I stopped this is not the news that I expected, Rob pulled his chair closer to me so that he can listen to Alex properly.
"Any news about my mom?" I asked him. Somehow I got the justice I deserved for all the times he beat me.
"Unfortunately we don't have, Ms. Reed? I mean Eli?" He called me
"That's a first" I chuckled when he called my name
"You take care Eli" his tone changed from serious to concerned tone.
"Yeah I know, you were not the one who was beaten up and shoved a gun on its throat" I don't know why he needed to be concerned, all he does is to perfect every thing he do but all of the sudden I should not be this sarcastic to him as he was actually cool and kind when he was with me in New Jersey during my last days there
