LOVE BEYOND LESSONS (A Teacher and Student Romance)

Before we used to go to each other's houses with our own toys, coloring paper, and enjoying cookies and milk. It's amazing how quickly time passes, since now we're at Ash's house instead of toys and books we are with our own boyfriends—I'll just use that term for Travis because he's currently Ash's partner. Rob came behind me while I was washing the vegetables in the kitchen sink.
"Jayson is fine" he whispered. Jayson wanted to know all the details, so Rob took it from there. He explained to Jayson everything like what he said to my grand father, I left them because I don't want to listen to the horrors I went through again
"He's mad that I was not honest enough with him" I turned to look at him
"No Eli, he understands" he assured me, then he pulled me in to a kiss, just then Jayson entered the kitchen
"Mr. Bailey" Jayson gasped, we immediately separated
"Hey Jayson relax we do that all the time" Missy hissed at him
"Why is it weird seeing your teacher kissing your friend?" Travis teased
"I swear Travis if you don't shut up I will throw you out" Rob said as he placed the vegetables I just washed on the table
"You'll get used to it Jayson, I saw the worst" Ash chimed in carrying the meats to grill
"I am going to leave all of you if you guys will not stop" I said, I heard Travis laugh
"I'm serious" I shot him my deadpan look
"Okay Eli, relax!" Travis said raising his hands up

They went outside to grill the meat as Rob stayed with me to do the roasted vegetables. My phone rings and I placed it on speaker phone as I am peeling the potatoes
"Is this Ms. Reed?" A man said on the phone
"Who are you?" I scowled at my phone
"It's Mr. I mean Alex" he said on the other line, what now?
"Yeah?" I asked him
"Your grand father wanted to let you know about something" he started
"Then where he is? Why you are the one talking to me?" I rolled my eyes
"He's currently in a meeting and he wanted to let you know before the news come out" he said as a matter of fact, I furrowed my brows because I really don't watch the news
"Cut with all those just spit it out, I know it's important if it's not" I replied
"Joe Garcia is now in the custody of the police, he was caught last night and he told everything about Jack's gang" I stopped this is not the news that I expected, Rob pulled his chair closer to me so that he can listen to Alex properly
"Any news about my mom?" I asked him
"Unfortunately we don't have, Ms. Reed? I mean Eli?" He called me
"That's a first" I chuckled when he called my name
"You take care Eli" his tone changed from serious to concerned tone.
"Yeah I know, you were not the one who was beaten up and shoved a gun on its throat" I don't know why he needed to be concerned, all he does is to perfect every thing he do but all of the sudden I should not be this sarcastic to him as he was actually cool and kind when he was with me in New Jersey during my last days there
"Eli let just say it's not only your boyfriend who cares for you" I looked at Rob immediately and he was looking at my phone
"I know I do have John" I said before Rob can comment I raised my eyebrow at my phone and I heard him took a deep breath
"Yeah you're right" he said
"Is there anything else?" I asked him
"If you need anything call, this is my private number" he said
"Why do I need to call you?" I snapped, this Alex is weird
"I..I did..not" he stammered then he sighed "yeah you're right you can call Atty. Reed" then he hung up
"Weirdo" I looked at my phone
"What's the name of Atty. Reed secretary?" Rob asked me
"The great Alexander Wright" I sarcastically said. We continue to do the vegetable as I think about Joe being behind the bars now, I think he deserves it, I wonder where is mom now, and how is she with Jack, I remembered what he said when he came in our house, it's my mother's fault why most of his members are in jail and his assets are frozen. I erase my thoughts about them, I am with my friends right now I need to enjoy and not think of any thing that can ruin my mood.

We enjoyed the dinner, and after that everyone went to Ash's rooftop to have beers. Ash's rooftop is simple and small but it can accommodate at least 10 people. They placed an outdoor tables and chair where you can relax and enjoy the night. I looked at her and Travis they seemed comfortable with one another, while Jayson is staring at me, I looked at him and he blushed and take a swig from his bottle
"Holy Cow Eli!" Travis suddenly said to me
"What?" I asked
"Atty. Reed just purchased the apartment you like! Marvin just confirmed" he said to me
"Oh, it supposed to be your graduation gift" he scratched his head as he continue to read his phone
"Are you talking about Marvin Wilson?" Rob asked Travis
"Yeah, miss him?" He chuckled, Rob just glared at him
"What will I do with it now? I just placed a deposit for my Housing Application" I drink from my bottle
"First you should act that you were surprised when he gives you the keys" Travis said
