Mom and Joe had been gone for weeks now, and I really don't care where they are. John kept in touch asking if I'm okay or do I need anything, but I politely refused. He wanted to reconnect, and I am thinking if it's the right thing to do, at least I do have someone who I can call a family.
Rob mentioned to me that I must give it a try, since my mom is not around, at least I have someone from dad' side, even though he's not with me anymore, at least I have John, the closet thing I have for a father figure, but do I really need a father figure? I told Rob I will think about it.
I am now in the library doing my task, Mrs. Geoff commended me once more from yesterday's show and when Mr. Bailey walked pass through me, he saw me and stopped to say hello, we did not say anything since the librarian is there on her computer after that he went out and my phone vibrates.
Rob: Meet me in my room after your tasks
Ten minutes later I am walking to his classroom, Rob decided to end my detention as a compensation of the last minute change yesterday, Missy was thrilled and thank him for that one.
I opened the door, and closed it. Rob was standing behind his desk, facing the board he looked behind and smiled when he saw me, gosh how can someone smile like that.
"I miss you in my room" he said closing the space between us, and giving me the comforting hug that I usual get from him.
"I miss you too, but I don't miss detention" I chuckled resting my hand on his chest, he cupped my chin and kissed me pushing his lips into mine then my phone vibrates and I took it out from the back pocket of my jeans heaving heavily
"It's John" I told him, he released me from his embrace, I sat down at the desk across him, while he went behind his laptop
"Hello?" I answered the phone, I heard him sighed, I've been ignoring him for days
"How are you Eli?" he asked
"I'm fine" I answered
"Listen, Eli I know we started on a wrong foot, and I know that it's all confusing for you but I really want to know you, meet me again in Charleston? I have a client to meet there in a week time so might as well meet you and I am hoping so" his voice was sincere
"I don't know John, let me think about it" I replied, I heard him sighed again
"Ok just tell me your decision" he answered
"Yeah will do bye" then I end the call, I took a deep breath and place my phone at the desk
"Any problem?" Rob looked at me behind his laptop
"He wanted to meet me again" I replied, still looking at my phone
"He's coming?" He took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned his back on his chair
"No, in Charleston"
He leaned forward "I think you should go" and clasped his hands together with his fingers and rest his chin on there
"I don't know" I've been thinking about what he had just said, sure enough having a family that have concerns about your welfare sounds appealing, and he's in New Jersey the place that I wanted to go for college, so it's nice if I had someone I knew
"It's nice to have a family in your life for once" he said seriously
"Yeah, but..." I trail off biting my lips
"I know it's hard but can you please at least try?" His voice was pleading, I took a deep breath and glanced at him
"Ok I will, I'm thinking about it lately anyways, I just don't know how to face him" I honestly said
