The next day, I was hoping that no more roses at my driveway or anywhere, and I'm so glad because there is none - even at my locker, I closed my eyes hoping to stop receiving one, Rob is not happy as well, his tense body yesterday speaks for his emotions.
I don't know what he is thinking but I hope he's okay. I entered our classroom and Allison and Jam welcomed me with their stupid grins on their faces
"Hey Eli!" Allison pulled my arms
"You did not say you have a boyfriend" Jam nudged her arms on my ribs, wait what? Did they figured out about me and Rob? I titled my head to look at Rob but his eyes is closed his hands were clasped together, resting his chin on it
"What are you guys talking about" trying to sound normal, but they don't need to say it to me anymore because when I reached my desk there's three red roses, the same as yesterday it's tied with pink ribbon and a note attached on it.
"It's beautiful, so where it came from?" Allison peeked on the card
"To the most beautiful girl Eli" she read the card, and shrieked I stared at the card and looked at Rob he's staring at me, he took a deep breath and face the class
"You guys settle down" he announced. I sat down at my chair, looking at the roses, I tried to concentrate at class but Rob is having a hard time either, he keep on mixing dates about the topic he is discussing
"Sorry guys I may have a hangover" he joked, but I know he doesn't have I was with him last night and I know for sure he did not drink. After class, I picked up the flowers and placed in his desk
"Throw this I don't fucking need it" I whispered and turned my back. During my next class my mind wanders about the flowers that I've been receiving it was pretty I admit it but I found it kind of sketchy. I tried my best to act that I am not freaked out about it.
"Mrs. Geoff I will be getting my license tomorrow so I will not be able to come" I told her after my task is done
"It's okay dear, those other task can wait" she removed her glasses and looked at me
"Thanks Mrs. Geoff, I go ahead" she waved at me and I smiled, and go to the familiar route towards Rob's room. I opened the door but he did not looked up, that's weird I thought
"Hey" I approached him, he looked at me then nods and went back to his laptop
"Is everything okay? You seemed so worn out" his tie is undone and his hair is kinda messy. He did not respond he continued to type on his laptop, maybe it's not a good thing to stay here then
"Okay I give you space, call me once you're home" I turned around but then he suddenly speaks
"Stay" he commands, I looked at him his eyes are tired
"What's wrong?" I asked unsure if I'm going to touch him or approach him, he removed his eye glasses and looked up
"How are you?" He asked
"Me? I should be the one asking that, because look at you, and earlier you can't concentrate with your class" I sat down at my usual desk
"To be honest Eli, I don't know" he leaned his back on the chair
"Is this about the flowers?" I asked him, he took a deep sighed and nodded "Rob to be honest I feel a little apprehensive about it, I'm just trying to keep it cool" I sighed
"Earlier in class I saw the panic stricken look on your face, and curse myself for not doing anything, I'm so tired of feeling so helpless when we are out in public" his sad voice crushed me, I stood up and stand in between his legs and placed my arms around his neck, he looked up his eyes full of agony.
