"Okay that's it" I checked my watch and told my juniors class to pass there papers, every one passed their papers and I had one student collected it, then turned the papers to me
"Thank you guys, enjoy your summer!" I waved my hands to them as I got the papers from the student who collected it
"Are you still be our teacher next year Mr. Bailey?" One of my student asked, I lifted my head and looked at her
"Unfortunately not, tomorrow will be my last day, I'll be going back to my home town" I smile as I heard some grumbles then the bell rings
"Ok you may go" I said and they all went out, once my room is clear, I picked the box that I brought earlier to start getting all my stuffs that I can fit in to it, Principal Thompson mentioned that I can have the keys till end of August so whatever I may not fit in this box then I could always get it back.
I unbuttoned two buttons on my top and folded my sleeves till my elbow as I started to work. While I am checking my drawers Eli came inside my room and looked around.
"Babe?" She called me, and I can't help to smirked when she uses her endearment to me
"I am in here" I lifted my head behind the drawers so that she can see me, she smiled and walk towards me, she is holding two iced coffee. She knows that I wanted my coffee hot, but lately I am enjoying the iced coffee she always give. She gave one for me and I muttered thanks
"Need help?" She asked as she glanced at the box on the floor
"No need this will be real quick" I assured her, she take a sip from her own glass and went to sit on her usual desk
"This so surreal Rob, tomorrow I will be graduating" she chuckled. I can't help but to proud for her
"Excited?" I asked as I rummage to the other side of my table
"Mixed feeling" she answered. I stood up and take a drink from my glass when someone knocked on my door, Eli looked at the door, her face is composed.
It is far different from the faces she has when someone comes in my room and we are here alone, maybe we both don't have that fear already - the fear of being caught.
"Come in" I called and the door open, Linda Myers entered holding a drink as well. Eli snorted, and turned her head away from her and drinks from her glass again
"Yes how can I help you Ms. Myers?" I asked her, she us looking at Eli
"Can I talk to you Mr. Bailey?" She asked, I glanced at Eli and she did not move she just continue looking ahead
"Yes how can I help you?" I asked again, Linda looked at Eli once more as if she's waiting for her to talk
"Ms. Myers?" I called starting to feel exasperated. Then that's when Eli looked back at Linda
"Do you need to talk to Rob alone?" she asked, and I was surprised that she called me by my first name in front of Linda but then again technically I am no longer their teacher, that ended two days ago when I handed their grades.
"If you don't mind?" she asked
"Is there something I don't need to hear?" she snapped, and I could tell that her patience with Linda is running real low now
"Whatever you wanted to say, you could tell it with me and Eli" I interrupted
"Why?" She complained. I heard Eli take a deep breath, she fixed herself tucking her hair in her ear, then looked straight at Linda
"Oh Linda you know why, your speculation is right, I lied during prom" Eli rolled her eyes to her and I remembered the story she shared to me about Linda confronting her.
