y/n and hyein have been in a relationship for a long time — since high school. however, they both keep their relationship private and do not advertise it to others. even though they are dating, they don't make a big deal out of it and just enjoy each other's company.
there have been no conflicts between the two, and their relationship has continued to grow and strengthen over time — it seems like nothing could ever break the two apart.
things have been going well between y/n and hyein, until one day, she tells y/n that she's going to debut and that both of them need to be extra careful around paparazzi to avoid any controversy. she also says that she wants to keep her private life out of the spotlight, so both of them are going to have to be very careful until everything calms down.
both of them agree to be discreet and try to keep their relationship under wraps to prevent any unwanted attention.
y/n's heart swells with pride, watching the love of her life; hyein becoming a successful idol.
but with her fame comes a busy and hectic schedule, causing her to reply to y/n's messages late and making late night voice calls a rare occurrence.

just when y/n thought the night couldn't get any worse, miracle happened. y/n heard her phone ringing in the middle of the night, and she peeked at her phone to see that it was hyein's number on the caller ID.
without wasting any time at all, y/n pick up the call and wait for hyein to say something. her heart pounds with suspense as she waits for the beloved voice of hyein to come through the phone.
"i miss yo— wait, are you crying, y/n?" was the first thing y/n heard from hyein.
"yes..." y/n replied, still teary-eyed and sniffling. she hated to admit it, but she were crying and she knew that hyein had noticed; it made her feel even more comforted and loved by hyein.
