haerin stepped out of her parents' car as they arrived at their grandparents' house—the house was old, but it still looked like someone still live in it.
however, haerin noticed the house had gotten even creepier than before. the house was covered in old woods and bushes that never being taken care of.
at least the nearby lake still looks as peaceful as haerin remembers.
then, the door to the house swung open, a sight of her grandmother's caretaker pushing her grandmother in a wheelchair came into view.
her grandmother had a soft smile on her face as soon as she saw them—she had the exact same smile as haerin's mother, but with a touch more tenderness.
haerin's entire face lit up the moment she laid her eyes on her grandmother.
after all, her grandmother was the one who had always been there for her, even on special occasions like her birthday. her parents were always too busy with their works to make time for her.haerin gave her grandmother a careful hug, taking notice of how fragile she was getting year by year. even though she was excited to see her, it did make her a little sad to see her grandmother like this—getting old and fragile.
"you've changed so much, haerin," her grandmother began to speak once she was released from the hug. "you've gotten prettier." she added, making haerin's lips curl into a small smile.
"and still no friends," haerin added as a joke that shouldn't be one, causing her grandmother to crack a soft laugh.
it had been a while since haerin had heard her grandmother laugh at one of her jokes, regardless of how lame it was.
"you're still the same haerin that i know," her grandmother said, before she looked over at her daughter; who happened to be haerin's mother.
haerin wasted no time at all in getting inside and traveling around the house in which she used to live while her parents were away.
while exploring the house, she could not help but remember the many sweet memories she had with her grandmother.
good old days.
she then rushed to her bedroom, which once was her mother's, the room in which she had spent so much of her time.
as soon as she stepped in, she felt a sense of nostalgia and comfort from the familiarity of the room.
it still looked the same as her childhood memories had left it, and she immediately jumped onto the bed that she had missed so much.
"i missed you so much," haerin muttered under her breath, enjoying the warm feeling of the mattress.
she suddenly felt as though she was being watched, so she sat up on the bed and looked around the room. for a moment, she felt uncomfortable, not understanding why she had this eerie feeling that she was being watched in the room.
