With a round of applause, the speech finally came to an end.
Putting down the chalk in his hand and looking at the audience on the stage, Orion nodded in satisfaction.
The audience was okay, at least it was much better than at the MRS conference.
Obviously, those professors who researched crystal chemistry and physical chemistry still understood his theory.
And those scholars who had studied his papers in depth after going back, understood more than 70% of it here.
Such a result was still quite acceptable to him.
Once the Organic Chemistry Symposium started, Orion put the joy of winning the award aside for the time being and participated in this academic exchange meeting with a learning attitude.
As the saying goes, it is never too old to learn, and even if he is at the forefront of research, there are still many things he needs to know.
It was only that the learning here had changed in form compared to the learning in his student days. For a scholar who creates knowledge, it is more focused on exchanging and discussing with peers, reading literature, listening to presentations and so on than extracting knowledge from books.
This Organic Chemistry Symposium provided him with such an opportunity, and it really benefited him a lot.
The following afternoon, after listening to a lecture on organic chemistry, Orion made himself a cup of coffee and went to the lounge area to find a corner to sit down and quietly sort out the notes he had collected earlier.
In the earlier session, a researcher had demonstrated a non-fullerene organic solar cell, and had given a current-voltage curve and maximum photoelectric conversion efficiency curve for a fluorinated binary heterojunction cell in the session.
The data on this graph was very nice.
Although he is not researching photovoltaic materials, he still has some research on fullerene materials. And what interested him most was the part about mathematical analysis in the paper, it could be seen that the author of the paper had good mathematical skills, he planned to spend some time studying it.
However, just at this moment, the sound of high heels rang out next to him, and a blonde beauty sat down opposite him.
Disturbed from his thoughts, Orion lifted his head and gave the beautiful woman sitting across from him a questioning look.
"And you are?"
Pursing her lips and smiling, the blonde beauty extended her right hand to him, "My name is Rowena, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you ......" After shaking her hand and releasing it, Orion asked in a puzzled tone, "Are you a student at any university?"
"I have a master's degree from Harvard, but not in chemistry."
Not here for a letter of recommendation, it seems.
Orion raised an eyebrow, "Journalist in the journalism department?"
Blinking, Rowena quirked her mouth mysteriously, "Somewhere in between."
Orion laughed and said, "Is it hard to believe you're also a writer?"
"Right answer!" Rowena snapped her fingers and winked at him, "I'm a popular science writer."
Really a novel writer?
