~Rosie's POV~
Lydia had just come back with four squirrels and me and mom were just finishing sewing. Dad was skinning the squirrels for dinner, and I was going to help mom with dinner. I couldn't really talk to Lydia to tell her that I had asked about the city, because I was busy. Mom had kept me busy all day, and once dad was done skinning the squirrels, he brought them to me and I cut them up into chunks, and stuck them in the stew pot with some herbs. I run into Lydia, she had the bowls and utensils for dinner. "Hey, I asked mom and dad about going to the city, tell you the rest later," I say before running back to the kitchen. "Stew in the pot?" Mom asks me, not turning around. "Yes ma'am," she smiles at me and I turn around to wash some berries. Mom goes to check on the stew, while I make some weird berry salad. "Dinners done!" I hear mom yell and I walk into the dining room with my weird berry salad and see Ethan with a flushed red face. I set the salad down, then sit in my normal seat and pray as Dad says Grace.
After that dad asks Ethan about town. "Oh, it was um, good," he says, rubbing the back of his neck. Travis looks at Ethan before chanting, "Ethan met a girl! Ethan met a girl!" He chants over and over while me and Lydia snicker and Ethan turns bright red. "Oh really?" Dad says, his eyebrows raised. "Um... Yeah.." Ethan says hesitantly. "What's her name?" I ask, smirking. "Isabelle," he says without hesitation. "Ethan, we can't go to the city that often, don't get in a relationship with some girl you don't know," dad says, starting with the lecture about random girls. I tune out their conversation and eat my dinner, but then I hear something that peaks my interest. "Maybe Lydia and Rosie should go," mom suggests. Me and Lydia drop our utensils in shock. "R-really?" I manage to stutter out. Mom laughs and nods at us. "Okay!! I'm cool with that!" I say, trying to hide my excitement. Ethan stabs his salad angrily, and I decided that I would talk to him later. "Please dad?" Lydia says, smiling. "Oh, okay," dad says after awhile. I smile to myself, and put my dishes away, then wait for Lydia for our bath tonight. "You excited?!" I ask as we go behind our separate curtains to take our bath. "Yes!" I laugh and start daydreaming of the city, and how awesome it would be.
