~Rosie's POV~
I was sitting in the front, watching Jace drive. I lay my head against the window, thinking. It didn't take long to get to the forest, and then Jace slows down. "So, where to?" He asks. "Keep going a little ways, then stop, and turn around, we have to say our goodbyes there.." I look back out the window. "Rosie.." Lydia says, looking out the window. "Huh?" I look back at her. "Are we going to be able to hide the car from our family?" She asks, confused. I sigh, of course not. "Change of plans Jace, stay here, I suppose I'll see you when I go back into the city.." I quickly hop out of the car, not looking back at Jace's hurt face. I knew I had hurt him, but I was hoping mom and dad wouldn't see.
I wait for Lydia behind a tree, half crying. "Rosie.. Why'd you do that?" She looks at me, seeing my tears. "Because, I was trying to make it seem like I don't care, in case mom and dad saw.." I choke back more tears. "I love him.." I say almost to myself, quietly. "I love you too, Rosie," I look up and see Jace's face stained with tears like mine. I get up and run to him, he picks me up in a hug. "If this was our goodbye the first time, how can we say it for the last time?" I ask him. "shhhh, don't talk like that," he says into my ear quietly. "Rosie, I hate to break this, but Ethan is lurking in the background," Lydia says, with a scowl on her face. "Rosie, wait until mom and dad hear," Ethan says, anger in his eyes. "Ethan.. Don't.." I step away from Jace, scared now. "Oh Rosie, if I can't have my little relationship with Isabelle, why should you have one with this, idiot?" I tense up, no one calls Jace an idiot, except maybe me and his family. "Ethan, don't play this game," he smiles, anger still in his eyes. "Oh, but I am," and with that, I shrink back against Jace, hiding my face. Some girlfriend I was.
