~Lydia's POV~
While Rosie was upstairs with Travis I figured I should get lunch and dinner started. I was going to make stew again for dinner and that takes a while to cook so I'll get it started as I made a small salad for lunch. I finish the salad and get some deer out of the ice bucket. Since we have no fridge we keep ice in a bucket and put the the meat in that. I grab four slabs of deer meat and chop them up and head outside to cook it.
"How's Travis?" Dad asks.
"Rosie's upstairs with him," I say putting the deer meat through a stick to put over the fire.
"That's where she is?" Jace asks standing up and heading towards the cabin.
"You haven't finished chopping wood young man," dad says stopping him in his tracks. He puts his head down and goes over to finish cutting the wood. I finally finished cooking the deer so I take it back in to cutting up the herbs for the stew and the rest of ingredients when Rosie walks back downstairs.
"Lunch?" She asks.
"Your berry salad," I say still cutting the herbs. She nods and walks outside. I take the stew outside to put on the fire and call everyone in for lunch. Jace and Rosie are the first ones in and Jace is blowing his hands to get warmed up.
"You guys ever thought about putting a fire place in here?" Robert asks sitting down.
"That's actually not a bad idea," dad says sitting at the table.
"I'll take Travis his food," I say fixing him a plate.
"Hey buddy," I say walking in his bedroom. There were four different rooms in the house. Travis and Ethan shared a room, Rosie and I shared a room and dad and mom used to share a room but now it's just him. We had a room that we used to get dressed in, sorta like a bathroom but without the toilet, or mirror. It only had the baths In it which was just a curtain between to tubs that we would fill with water but we didn't use it often. When Robert and Jace moved in we didn't have anywhere else for them to stay so they now stay in this room. They have to leave when Rosie and I need to take a bath though. Travis sits up and takes his plate from me.
"So what happened?" I ask him.
"Nothing," he says bowing his head to pray. I don't say anything and let him finish praying before I talk again.
"Tell me," I say.
"I was trying to get the berries again and I slipped. I hit my head on the table," he says eating. I kiss him on the forehead and head back downstairs for lunch.
