~Lydia's POV~
"Come on Bandit," I say walking through the fresh fallen snow. Bandit runs to catch up with me and I continue walking.
"You think Robert likes me?" I ask Bandit.
"Yeah your probably right," I say answering my own question. If only dogs could talk. I walk to our deer blind we built in November. It was nothing to fancy, limbs lined up horizontally against a fallen tree with leaves camouflaging it. The ends where opened so I could just walk in fairly easy and Bandit and I used leaves to build a little seat. The limbs had little slots just enough I could see out of them and shoot deer.
"I'll be back, stay here," I tell Bandit. I crawl out of the blind and grab some uncooked corn from my pocket and spread across the ground before going back into my blind. At least four hours passed before we saw a a beautiful buck. He was eating the corn off of the ground and looked at least two hundred pounds maybe over.
"Okay buddy, this is it," I said rubbing Bandits head. I raise up my gun and get up on my knees. I take aim, shoot and the buck falls to the ground.
"Okay go on," I say to Bandit. Bandit gets up a runs over to the buck and barks. I taught him to tell me if the buck was actually dead, bad past experience. I grab the rope and my gun and run over to the deer.
"Alright buddy," I say to Bandit so he would move out of my way. I take the rope and tie the back legs of the deer together and throw the other end over my shoulder and start walking, dragging the deer behind me with Bandit by my side, and head back towards the cabin.
