~Rosie's POV~
It was December 24, Christmas Eve, also two days before mine and Lydia's birthday. Travis had told Robert and Jace when our birthday was, so now they know. The house was decorated with Christmas decorations and we had a tree with a few homemade ornaments. We even had mistletoe, although dad hid it and said if you find then you still have to kiss the person whose under it with you. I always looked around before stepping somewhere, I didn't want to end up kissing anyone but Jace. Me and Lydia were making dinner for tonight, and prepping the food for tomorrow. The fireplace was a nice touch, it made the house warm and easier to cook with. Lots of times everyone would just gather around the fireplace and Travis would ask dad for stories sometimes, other times he would ask Robert and Jace to tell stories. Tonight, there would be no stories, because we all had to go to bed early.
We all sit down, pray, then eat our dinner. We all get our baths, and then we go to bed. "Goodnight Jace," I say to him before kissing him gently on the lips then going to bed.
I wake up to Travis jumping up and down yelling "ITS CHRISTMAS! ITS CHRISTMAS!" Jace and Robert were behind him, with Ethan already downstairs apparently with dad. "That is a great way to wake up," I say, laughing before standing up still half asleep. "Well merry Christmas to you too," Jace says, smirking. "Merry Christmas!" I say after awhile of finally waking up. Lydia was awake as well, and we both walk downstairs with Jace and Robert. "Lydia, this ones for you," Ethan hands her a carefully wrapped thing. She opens it and smiles, it was a new box of shotgun shells and a throwing knife. "Awesome!" She says, still smiling. "Here Robert," Travis gives Robert a present and he opens it to see a collar. "What's this for..?" He asks, confused. "For Bandit," Lydia says. He smiles and hugs her. "Rosie, yours is outside," Dad says, smiling. "Um, okay..?" I walk outside and stop, smiling, it was a ladder, made from beautiful wood. Dad and Jace had followed me out. "Jace is good with his hands, he helped make that for you. It's so you can climb easier," dad says, smiling. I run up and hug him, smiling from ear to ear. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I say, happy. "Anytime," dad says, kissing the top of my head, like I was a kid again. "You have someone else to thank too," I step back and dad hands me the present I made for Jace, secretly. Dad walks back inside and I look at Jace. "Thank you," I say, looking at him. "Anything for my girl," he says, coming up to hug me. "Wait, before you hug me," I give him the present I made. He unwraps it and tears form in his eyes. "It's amazing," he says after awhile. It was sanded wood with the words that said "Jace and Rosie, October 16," I smile, it had taken me awhile to perfect that. "You like?" I ask, smiling."no, I love it!" He hugs me, kissing my lips gently. We walk back inside, and I see Travis with his axe, dad with the scrapbook me and Lydia made him, and Ethan with the pocket knife we got him. "It's for protection, since you go to the city a lot," I tell Ethan. "Thanks," he smiles at us. "No problem," this was a good Christmas.
