~Lydia's POV~
I walk up the stairs slowly, following behind dad. I pull out my hand gun and hold it down by my side. My arm was bleeding and would need stitches afterwards, so would Rosie's face. We get to the top of the stairs but now there was no screaming, only growling and crying.
"JOSEPHINE! TRAVIS!" Dad yells loudly.
"Dad!" I hear Travis yell. His scream was filled with tears and worry. The cub came running out from beside moms bed and was headed for us. I raise my hand gun ignoring the indescribable pain that shot through my arm, and pulled the trigger. The cub fell to the ground and we ran over to where Travis was knelt down at. My eyes suddenly fill with tears and hatred while my heart filled with sadness and shock. There, on the floor, the woman who had raised us was laying. Bite marks across her neck, she was bleeding out and scratches across her face.
"Mom!" Ethan screams and him and dad fall to the floor. Travis cries out a blood curdling scream and cries. I go over and sit next to him, wrap him in my arms and he buries his face in my shoulders so he can't see mom. I sit there like that as his silent comfort while I watch dad take moms hand. He doesn't shed a tear, only kisses her on the lips one last time and uses his fingers to close her eyes. Dad may have not shed a tear but I could see in his eyes he was dead inside. Ethan sat there, eyes filled with tears, brushing the hair away from moms face. Dad stands up along with Ethan and signals Travis to walk with them downstairs. I scoot closer to mom and I couldn't take it anymore. The tears escapees from my eyes and I lay cry on my moms lifeless chest.
"Why?!?!" I scream choking on tears, "WHY?!?!" I take her hand and hold it for one last time. All the memories of her and I and the family race back through my mind and I cry even more. I couldn't believe this happened, why did it happen. I push back a little of her hair and see her locket she always wore. The heart was covered in blood but I find the button and push it open. I've never actually opened the locker before but I cried even more somehow when I saw what was inside. One side was a picture of me, the other Rosie and engraved on the rim it said "My True Two Soldiers." I close the locket and carefully remove the necklace from her neck and slip into my pocket. I had the locket, it will always be my reminder of her. I then notice something else. The hair clip Rosie made her a few years back. I unclip it from her tangled hair and slip that in my pocket as well, for Rosie's reminder.
"I never knew," I whisper, "never knew we were your true two." I kiss her cheek and stand up. I walk downstairs without looking back.
