The rooster wakes me up and surprisingly I was the first one up.
"Rosie! Come on, stop snoozing!" I say running to my dresser. She sits up sleepily until she realizes what today was, then she got up and got ready as fast as she could. I grab my blue plaid shirt and deer skinned pants with a homemade gun holder. I braid my hair a twist it into a bun and held it in place with a small twig. I grab my hand gun put in my holder and head out to the stream leaving Rosie alone upstairs with the boys. On the way to the stream I stop a grab an old rag and continue my way down to the stream to wash my face before heading back up for breakfast. I go back to the cabin and Rosie stands there holding my sandals in her hand laughing at my ignorance.
"Forget something?" She asks. I laugh and take them from her and slide them on and we head out back to join everyone outside. Travis was running around throwing rocks at trees pretending the trees were enemies and Ethan and dad were boiling water as mom chopped up some herbs.
"Anyone collect eggs?" I ask. As eager as I was to go to the city I knew they wouldn't let us go until everything was done.
"No, would you?" Mom asks. I nod and head down to the chicken coop and lift the lid. I grab the eggs and head back. Breakfast went by quick and before we knew it mom was giving us money and we were on our way. It was about a twenty minute walk to the city. We finally reach the sign that says, Now entering Karts City.
"We are here Rosie!" I shout in excitement. I look over and Rosie stands in shock and is smiling. The closet shop to us was the nearest farmers market so we decide to go in and check it out.
"Hello," a girl with a warm smile and short blonde greets us.
"Hello," I say awkwardly. Rosie nudges me and snickers
"What?" I ask confused. She nods in the cashiers direction and laughs. I still had a puzzled look on my face until I see why she is laughing. She had a name tag on that said Isabelle.
"Um excuse me," I say looking in Isabelle's direction.
"Yes?" She asks smiling.
"Are you Isabelle?" I ask.
"Well that's what it says here now doesn't it," she says looking at her name tag and laughing, "why?"
"Oh no reason," I say thinking I should keep my mouth shut.
"Isabelle," I hear a voice come from beside us and I look over to see a tall teenage boy holding a box.
"Yes Jace?" She asks.
"Where do you want me to put the extra bags?" He asks.
"In the back room," she says. He turns and walks to the back of the room and I turn to see Rosie has a smile on her face and she is as red as the apples on the shelves.
