To me, she was everything. She was my world when the whole universe betrayed me. She was the only one who stayed, even in my darkest days.
Today is our anniversary, and I'm at school looking for her. I was looking around their school, and I spot her; she was talking to someone. Lumapit ako rito hinawakan ko ang bewang niya dahilan para ito'y magulat at pabiro akong hinampas.
"Don't even try to do it again, Keiron!" I chuckled when I hear her voice. It was so angelic.
"I'll go first, Dixie. Ingat ka pauwi!"
"Yeah. You too." I didn't bother to look back to this girl although I know there's something with this girl.
Naagaw ang atensyon ko ng tapikin ako ni Ries.
"You're out of place, love. What's the matter?" she gently asked. I gave her an assurance smile para hindi na siya mag-alala.
A minute of silence between the two of us while walking. When she was the one who broke it.
"Where are we going?"
"Malapit na tayo."
Nang marating ang lugar ay kita ko ang saya sa mukha niya.
"Happy anniversary, love!"
"Naalala mo? That's kinda sweet of you," she giggled.
"You think I'm the kind of person na makakalimutan ang ganitong bagay?" birong tampo ko sa kanya. Napailing na lamang ito dahil sa sinabi ko.
"I really thought na nakalimutan mo talaga. Happy anniversary, my love Keiron. I'm looking forward for more years to come."
But what if those happy memories become a thing of the past? become a dark past for him? Wherein has his memory of her become who he is today?
"Kuya! Tatlo na ang nawawala sa mga kaibigan ninyo! At ni-isa sa mga 'yon ay hindi man lang natagpuan!" sigaw ng nakababatang kapatid ni Drein na si Dixie. Sa kanilang lahat si Dixie ang malawak ang pag-iintindi, alam niya ang nangyayari.
"Huwag mo akong sigawan, Dixie! Baka nakakalimutan mong nakatatanda mo akong kapatid! Don't even try to raise your voice against me." balik na sigaw ng nakatatandang kapatid. Pumagitna si Giles na kaibigan ni Drein upang awatin ang mga ito.
"Drein, kumalma ka nakababatang kapatid mo yan."
"He's right, Drein. You both need to cool off first." sabat ni Kyron na hawak ang braso ni Dixie na ngayo'y handa nang sugurin ang kapatid.
"Paano tayo kakalma, Kyron? Dixie has a point. Onti-unti tayong nawawala..." Zeiara spoke after a long silence.
No one tried to speak up. No words can explain how this vacation turns into a tragedy. Frustrations and worries filled their systems, and the only thing that they could do was wait.
