TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE
SOMEONE'S POV
"Good morning, our dear students. I want to inform you about the death of Haile Ramirez, not to scare you, but to inform you how important our mental health is. She took her life because of this bullying inside our school, of which we're not aware. As the head of this school, we'll take action regarding what happened. To her family, our sincere condolences."
Everyone was stunned to speak because of what they heard. Inikot ko ang paningin ko hanggang sa mamataan ko ang lalaking naka-sumbrero. He clenched his fist in some particular reason. Muli kong inilibot ang mata ko until I reached the gazette's.
They were all unbothered.
Hindi mo makikitaan ng kahit anong emosyon ang mga ito. They were all busy like they didn't heard the announcement. Hindi naman nakakapagtaka dahil ang ginagawa lang naman nila dito ay ilaban ang school sa iba't ibang contests about journalism.
On the other side, I saw Dixie, Drein sister, who's talking to a girl. Kung hindi ako magkakamali ay 2 years gap lamang ito kay Dixie. She's a college student while Dixie is a senior high students. I walked away like I didn't notice something. Dumeretso ako sa room at kinuha ang mga gamit ko. I know their secrets.
They may look so innocent, but deep inside, they were hiding the truth behind the lies.
I check my watch and it turned out it's already 4:30pm. Pumunta ako kung saan nagpakamatay si Haile. She took her life in the river. I sat in the bench malapit sa kinamatay ni Haile nang mapansin ko ang isang notebook. Out of curiosity, kinuha ko ito at binuksan. It was full of messages about her experiences inside the school. Nangangalaiting pinilas ko ang bawat pahina hanggang sa mapunta ako sa gitna nito.
They know, but they remain silent.
I seek for help, but they choose to be deaf.
They saw me, but they choose to be blinded.
The gazette knows-but they ignored me.
Nanginginig kong ibinaba ang note nito habang nakatanaw kung saan siya nakatayo bago nito tapusin ang buhay niya.
This isn't the end. Tumayo ako at nagsimula nang maglakad. This will be their downfall.
