Chapter 20

My current age is 26, I have a good job, I just bought my own car without the help of mami, I’m still living with Elle and most importantly I’m happy.

So right now I’m in my room watching my favourite Netflix series when Elle decides to walk in eating a muffin leaving crumbs everywhere.

“No no no, what’s wrong with you can’t you grab a serviette, a saucer or something,” I exclaimed

“Sorry,” she mumbled with her mouth full

“Elle!” I screamed following her with a serviette that was on my bedside cabinet.

“What are you doing here anyways?” I asked

“Well I came to tell you that I’m going out with Dylan later today, he asked me to help him shop for some stuff,” she said laying next to me

“Really, what stuff?” I asked 

“Oh uhm, he didn’t say so I don-, I don’t know,” she stuttered which reminds me they have been acting very weird lately because I asked the girls if we could the other day and coincidentally they all had plans. I mean even Matthew blew me of, he is my best friend he is supposed to be by my side because we literally do everything together and now he doesn’t want to hang out.

I don’t know when but Elle and I fell asleep but I was woken up by my phone ringing. I didn’t check the caller I just answered it.

“Hello,” I mumbled
“Hey Kay, did I wake up?” It was Matt
“Yes you did, now what’s up,” I asked
“It’s literally 13:30 in the afternoon, why are you still sleeping?” he chuckled

“It was a needed nap and that’s besides the point anyways why did you call,” 

“Well I called because I’m taking you out to dinner tonight,” he said

“Oh so now you want to hang out with me,”
“Okay I’m sorry for blowing you off, I was really busy with a project from work so please let me make it up to you by taking you out, I promise you’ll like it,” he said softly

“Fine, what time are you picking me out?” I asked
“Be ready by 19:30 and wear something elegant we are going somewhere fancy,” he answered
“Okay, see you then,”

We both bid goodbye.

Elle got ready to go out with Dylan and I was stuck at home alone getting ready for tonight.

Matt finally arrived we were on our way. I was feeling very nervous and I could literally hear my heart thumping in the insides of my chest.

When we got inside I was amazed by the beautiful interior of the place, I mean it looked like one of those expensive, fancy banquets that rich people host.

It was really beautiful I wasn’t even expecting this I just thought it was some fancy dinner. I was busy admiring the place that I didn’t even notice Matt standing behind me until he tapped my shoulder and started.

“From the very first day that I saw you I’m not going to lie and say it was love at first sight because a week later we got into a huge fight.
I’m not very good at expressing myself so please bear with me. We had our ups and downs to the point where we were falling apart, where our loved turned into hate and we couldn’t even look at each other but I still remember the day that I made a promise (he gulps blinking away the tears in his eyes), a promise that I will wait for you no matter what, it has been 8 years, 8 frickin years since I made that promise and I kept it.
