Her POV
Dead bodies of different races are scattered in every corner of the academy. The academy, built many decades ago, is now in chaos as monsters sent by the Dark King are wreaking havoc. The academy that used to be the home for attribute users is now the graveyard for those who were slain.
"Yang, dapa!" One of her friends shouted.
"Sorry," She said.
"We are in the middle of war, ano bang nangyayare sayo?" Kris asks.
"Iniisip ko lang si Demy; hindi ko siya nakikita kanina pa," The latter answered.
"Mamaya mo na isipin si Demy. Malakas yun, kayang-kaya niyang protektahan ang sarili niya." I smiled.
I'm not in my body, but I can see them from here. I want to help them, but they're not allowing me.
"Patience," He said. I was able to catch his vanilla scent. Napalunok ako ng wala sa oras. Bakit ba ang lapit ng isang 'to?
"As if I have a choice." I rolled my eyes at him na kinasama niya ng tingin sa akin.
I can't take it anymore. I can't afford to see them suffer.
"Babalik na ako sa katawan ko." Matigas kong sabi.
"No. You're—Let her." Goddess Celestia cut him off.
"But remember, we can't interfere in your war. It is your fight, and we have nothing to do with it," She said.
"Yeah."
"Okay then, see you after the war?" Talagang magkikita tayo, kung mamamatay ba naman ako.
Instead of answering, I just closed my eyes, and after a second, I'm back to where my body was. I instantly dissolve the barrier and get out of my room. The temperature outside is cold, but my body feels like burning. I don't know if this is because I'm eager to kill those assholes or just because I'm hot, tsk.
Hawak-hawak ang espada ko, nasa tagiliran ko naman ang baril ko, nilakad ko ang mahabang pasilyo papunta sa gitna ng academy. It didn't take long for me to reach the end of the hallway. Natatanaw ko mula sa kinatatayuan ko ang magulong field, mga nakahandusay na katawan ng mga taga lower levels na studyante at ang mga sira-sirang parte ng academy.
Dere-deretso akong naglakad papuntang field hindi alintana ang mabibigat at malalakas na aura sa paligid. My inner thoughts are shouting at me to move faster, so I did. If I were just a normal being, hindi ko makikita ang nangyayare sa paligid dahil sa napaka kapal na usok.
"D—demy." Oh God! Am I late?
I ran in their direction. They are barely breathing. Slashes that came from a sword, bruises, and open wounds from their broken bones.
"Dem, h—hindi namin sila kaya," Flora said.
"Hang in there. Win, can you walk?" She nodded.
"Good. Then bring Flora to the nearest infirmary and ask for help. Go now!" Paika-ika man, pinilit niyang tumayo at alalayan si Flora.
Hinanap ng mata ko ang iba, especially Mia and Kris.
"Ahhh." I know that voice.
"Drake? You shit, are you okay?" Nakarating ako sa kinaroroonan nila.
They're here. The other royalties and my friends.
"Oh, nice, a reunion," Hailey said.
"Traydor ka! Kaya pala una palang iba na ang pakiramdam ko sayo," Drake said.
"Me? A traitor? No, I'm not. Dahil una palang naman, wala na akong balak sumapi sa inyo. You're a bunch of idiots. Ang bilis niyong mapaniwala," She said, looking directly at me.
"Where did you bring Firo?" Siya lang ang wala dito aside from them.
"Hahaha. You think I'll tell you? Bitch, he's mine." She's crazy.
"And, oh, where is your father, by the way?" She was taken aback.
"W—what?" Tsk.
Kinukuha ko ang atensyon niya while the others are making their move.
"The Dark King. He's your father, right?"
"Bitch, how did you know that?" Isn't it obvious?
"'Coz I'm Death, and I know better," I said.
"Oh, full of spirit. I like it. I hope you'll entertain me more than them," She said as she vanished.
"Dem, umalis ka nalang. Leave us here; save yourself."
"I'm not stupid."
Naramdaman ko ang maitim na budhi ni Hailey sa gawing kanan, kaya umiwas ako. I know what she's doing.
"Kaya pala hindi niya kayang ilabas ang light attributes niya. Kasi wala pala talaga siya nun," Clarence said out of nowhere.
"Kaya din ba hinayaan niyo na lang siyang lokohin kayo? That's bullshit!" I blurted out.
A barrier has been made. Hailey made a barrier out of her power. I see. She has almost all of his attributes; no wonder nagawa niyang paikutin ang mga royalties.
"This fight is between you and me. If you can kill me, you can have Firo. But then, on second thought, even if you win, you still can't have him because he's mine." I wonder how Firo's life is every time he is with this girl.
"Ang dami mong daldal. I still have to fight your father and burn your den."
"That, if you can escape from your death, I will kill you from here." Aww, I'm scared.
She positioned herself as she summoned her weapon. Nice. It's a scythe with a tremendous amount of dark power.
"Are you ready to die, bitch?" She asks.
Ah, so noisy.
I don't have to summon my main weapon. My sword alone can kill her.
She instantly attacked me, which I managed to dodge. She's fast. She took advantage of the academy's training anyway.
"Why do you keep avoiding me? Akala ko ba malakas ka? Tsk, wala ka palang kwenta," She said.
"Really? Ganyan mo ba ka gustong mamatay?" I tried to smile, but it turned out to be a smirk.
"You know what? Instead of killing you, why don't you try being my dad's fucking buddy? In that case, you'll be my stepmom, and you can't bother me and Firo." No thanks. Wala pa akong balak maging pok-pok.
"You will regret not killing me here, Hailey, or, should I say, Dark Princess," I said as I smiled at her wickedly.
"Let's see if you can maintain your arrogance, bitch." After saying those, kasunod ay ang pag-atake niya sa akin. Wala akong sinayang na oras that it took her long enough to realize that I'm in front of her already. I can see how her eyes widen in shock. Who would have thought that a mere civilian could teleport?
Good for her; she dodged my attack. But that's what she thought.
"Ahhh!" She shouted in pain. Nakita ko pa kung paano manginig ang kamay niyang nakahawak sa leeg niya. From a small red line, until it grows longer, and to the blood dripping from it. She couldn't believe that I managed to cut her neck.
I could hear gasps. Alam ko anong iniisip nila, but I don't really care.
"Y—you!" Her expression faltered.
"I told you, you're going to regret not killing me in an instant."
