I also wanna say like sorry for ghosting yall and it will happen again cause life is garbage but i feel motivated with writing now that im busy and classes have started back up.
I also apologize for this being in this format I feel kind of bad because i'm sure people prefer like actual one shots but I couldn;t write anything I liked ANYWAYS LETS GET INTO IT
-I feel like you and Tressa would be third years attending this pretty nice school named after Duardo Silva because why not (funding a high school is a very good image for a pharmaceutical company owner)
You transferred this year, and figured a good way to make some friends would be to join a club. You picked the spirituality club-partially because you had no idea what it was about and because the art on the flier was actually eye catching and pretty cool. Plus, the inclusivity was a pretty neat bonus.
-So they did, like, a lot of things you had no clue about. It honestly freaked you a little bit-tarot cards, crystallogy, palm readings-you didn't know what to think about it. But you put your fear of the unknown to the side and came to understand it was mostly about connecting yourself with a higher meaning and coming to universally understand yourself, even if you did think it was a little showy. Just a little. And it turns out for the community volunteer hours, the group did restoration projects like cleaning up litter and planting the colorful array of flowers in front of the school
-Tressa was the founder of the club. She was very mellow, and she and the other girls welcomed you into the group. You had essentially found your new friend group at that point.
-Tressa makes new members crystal bracelets, and by the next meeting she had strung you up a bracelet with different types of crystals on them.
"Do these have special meanings?" You asked curiously, admiring your the jewelry.
"Of course." She takes you wrist and slips the bracelet on, pointing out each of the minerals and naming them. "Tangerine quartz, for your curiosity, Carnelian to stimulate creativity, moon stone for new beginnings, and last but not least, desert rose, for teamwork and unity. We've all got one." She motions to her own, and so do the other members as well. Safe to say, you felt like you'd found your new high school home.
-Okay, so outside of the club, you and Tressa don't really have the same classes, but you were lucky enough to have the same lunch periods. You, her, and some friends would hang out outside if the weather was nice during lunch just talking about how the day was going.
-She loves to break out the Nintendo Switch for lunch, so you guys play Mario party together (you main Yoshi while she mains Rosalina) Yes she loves games, and always wants you to play multiplayer games with her. She even lets you borrow it on occasion.
-She's really good at science-the school has a science fair for freshman-juniors, and she had this amazing idea to use a magnet to alter ferrofluid. She showed you a video demonstration of her idea and if she didn't win you were going to personally burn the school to the ground.
-As time went on, you started to develop feelings her-of course you weren't actually sure if that's what it was. Something just possessed you to start making lunches for her at least twice a week. She was thrown off at first, but she accepted the kind gesture anyway.
-But who could blame you, honestly. She was cool, smart, very patient with you. She was so...gentle in a way that made the butterflies go crazy in your stomach.
-Like that one time she was helping you with some homework, you didn't need that much help, you understood most of it, but there were just some things that confused you. It was the last question, and then you would be done for the day.
"Hey, Tress?" That was your little nickname for her. "I don't understand this question. She gets up from the edge of her bed, putting down a novel she was reading.
"What about it don't you understand?" She scrutinizes it for you, then points a temporarily tattooed finger at the issue. She taps her finger on the paper, leaning on the desk with both her arms on either side of you. "You used the wrong value." She said it with such a soft, milky tone that made your brain short circuit.
"...Oh."
-Back to the lunches...you always asked if she liked what you made. She would smile and say "It's perfect."
-When the time comes for your first club community service, which is cleaning up the local park litter, scrubbing graffiti and setting up recycling bins, you find yourselves tackling the playground together and talking about things like next school year, life after graduation, you know, deep stuff. You learned she wanted to pursue humanitarian work at some point after school.
-The conversation switches to more lighthearted topics until your mouth starts running before you can make it stop.
"You know, even though we've only known each other for a couple months, I really admire you."
"Oh? How so?" She's intrigued now, taking a seated break on the playground equipment. You nod.
"Yeah. You always have these bright ideas, and you're so supportive. You care about the club so much-and you're so fun!" You weren't paying attention to her at this point, you were just talking. "And you're so cool, we like the same stuff, and your like, super pretty." And that's when you realized you had been talking for far too long.
-You were hoping and praying that the sudden confusion didn't put her off or creep her out, but surprisingly the reaction you got wasn't either of those.
-She seemed, almost amused.
"Well, that was um, I understand if that was weird," you started, but figured, well shit. Cat's already out the bag, might as well stand on business. "But I'm not lying! I really think that you are, um..."
"Pretty?" She finished for you, a genuine smile on her face. You couldn't help but shyly nod.
"Yeah."
-She stands up and walks over to you, tapping your chin to look up at her. Your body was hot, mostly from the anxiety that came with the confession, but you probably would've combusted into flames with the way she just leaned in to kiss you. You could taste some of the hard candy she was sucking on earlier.
-The rest of that day goes by pretty great. Your arms are sore from the taxing duty of trying to clean up graffiti off of playground equipment, but with the time spent with your new girlfriend Tressa was worth it.
