The following day, Wuxian and Wangji were doing great. Wuxian felt very refreshed and relaxed, he didn't think he could feel this way after a wild night but he does. After a nice breakfast, Wangji and Wuxian went to the workshop to see the disciples blueprints. They each get a chance to speak and present their ideas.
"We will just move from left to right, so you on the left, what is your name?" Wuxian asked.
"I am Lan Baihu, (Baihu meats White Tiger), and my idea is actually a charm, or weapon...well, the idea is that when using a bow, instead of constantly having to reach for a new arrow, you would use the charm as it uses spiritual energy to create an arrow," Lan Baihu explains.
Wuxian nodded, "it's a clever idea, it helps with shooting faster but it could deplete your spiritual energy. Do you have a solution for that?"
"It would still be best to have normal arrows on hand in case your spiritual energy runs low. It is a way to keep you safe as long as you know your way around the location you are at and you keep a clear conscious," Baihu explained.
Wuxian nodded and looked at Wangji and the others, "What do you three think?"
"It is a cleaver idea, the way to test out if it would be worth it is to make the charm and see how much energy it takes to use the spiritual arrow," Lan Qiren stated, "otherwise we would not know the advantages and disadvantages of the charm."
"What would these arrows be used for?" Wangji asked, "Night hunts or something else?"
"Night hunts of course, unless another war comes and it becomes useful for a long distance combat," Baihu explained. Lan Baihu seemed to be a smart young man. He was from a family within the sect but has great potential as he pays attention in classes and does well with his night hunts. He also has a decent amount of good leadership skills but they could also be improved.
Lan Biyu was next, which was the only female disciple in the group. She was already given high praises for her skills in archery and she did will on her test given by Lan Qiren, "I created a blueprint of a sword that can become a dagger or a dagger to be a sword."
Wuxian blinked a couple times before looking at the girl's blueprints. She had everything drawn out in detail from the length of the sword to the length of the dagger to the mechanics of having the sword become a dagger by just removing a couple pieces of the handle. It was very well thought out.
"This is very well thought out and drawn up," Wuxian said, "what would the benefits be of this?"
"Sometimes a dagger could be of better use than a sword and there are times where a sword may be of use over a dagger. The dagger is a quick way to a close up attack in case of an enemy being too close, or it could be a final blow to a spiritual beast as it has little strength left to fight. Sometimes a dagger is a better way to end a life than a sword," Biyu explained, "within the handle as well, is a hidden compartment for poison needles if needed."
Wuxian looked more carefully and spotted it. He then turned to the others, "Say we take this to the sect's blacksmith, do you think he could make this?" Wuxian asked.
"It's possible," Xichen said and looked at Biyu, "would you like to see if he can?"
"Really?" Biyu asked.
Wuxian nodded and handed the draft to Xichen to hand it to the blacksmith, "if you want it to by your personal weapon, we would need a strand of hair to link it to you."
Biyu nodded, "thank you."
Wuxian pulled Lan Qiren, Lan Xichen, and Lan Wangji aside, "even though we have a few more activities we can plan, I think Biyu is a good candidate to be a part of the six disciples. I think it would be nice to have a strong female in the group," Wuxian explained.
"I agree," Wangji said, "She has proven herself already and her skills are great. I think we can let her know she can join Jingyi and Sizhui."
Wuxian nodded and turned to the disciples, "It has been decided that Lan Biyu will become the third member to the group. Three slots are left so you nine will have to work hard for it," Wuxian explained. Lan Biyu kowtowed and went to stand by the boys. As she stood by Sizhui, Wuxian couldn't help but notice the boy blushing and turned to Wangji, "does our A'Yuan have a crush?"
Wangji glanced at Sizhui and smiled, "possibly, we can talk to him about it later tonight. We can invite him over for dinner. It's been a while since it's been the three of us."
Wuxian nodded and turned back to look at the other disciples. They all had decent ideas and were doing well with impressing Wuxian and Wangji. For the final activity, which will be the next day, will be testing their sword skills. They will be sparring as Wuxian and Wangji want to know how they are doing with sword skills. Sizhui, Jingyi, and Biyu are going to participate in it to even things out.
After the presentations of the blueprints, the disciples were dismissed except for Sizhui, "Hey kiddo," Wuxian greeted.
"Hi Baba," Sizhui greeted.
"How about dinner with us tonight?" Wuxian asked.
"I would love to," Sizhui agreed, "mind if I stay over then so I don't have to worry about curfew?"
"Your room is still open so you can," Wangji replied.
"Thanks, A'Die," Sizhui said.
"We would hang out with you more, but you have a class to get to, don't you?" Wuxian asked.
"I do, see you this evening then?" Sizhui said.
"Mnn, see you later," Wuxian nodded and watched him leave before turning to Wangji as it was just the two of them now, "he has grown up so well. If he likes Biyu, I hope it goes well. She looks like a nice girl, especially for him."
"We will see how it goes, but we should talk to him first," Wangji said, "I am sure he could use some advice. Though we are both men, I am sure we can help in some way."
Wuxian nodded, "absolutely," Wuxian agrees.
