"Why do you think that you don't know how to properly meditate?" Wangji asked, "What do you struggle with most?"

"Ugh...sitting still," Wuxian replied, "turning my brain off as it's so clogged up with thoughts. It also has to do with....ugh."

"What?" Wangji asked.

"I've noticed that meditation doesn't work well with resentment. It's like I'm connected to the spiritual world. I can hear screaming and crying. I can feel the sadness and the anger. Meditation starts off okay, but it doesn't end well," Wuxian explained.

"Has the soul calming music helped you at all?" Wangji asked.

"Well...that day I woke up after the battle with Wen Ruohan. I didn't sit still for long but I did feel something from that...I can't really explain it," Wuxian said, "maybe I felt as if the resentment was soothed for a while so I could properly rest. It helped but it didn't help at the same time. Almost several minutes after I would just feel back to my normal resentful state."

Wangji nodded, "it's helpful information," he said, "it tells me that the music keeps the resentful energy at bay so you can meditate properly. You are now equally balanced with both energies. It might take some time to learn a new method in meditation to manage both."

"Well, I could always try speaking with Lan An again, but I'd feel a little bad for bothering him over something like this," Wuxian explained.

"He said he'd help you whenever you needed it, correct?" Wangji asked.

"Well, yes..." Wuxian began.

"It's okay to ask for help or advice, Wei Ying, even from other sources," Wangji told him.

Wuxian sighed, "I suppose you are right," he said, "but we don't really have time today to talk to him."

"We will try to speak with him after today's lessons," Wangji said with a smile, "let's get you through this meditation and we can go have breakfast."

"Okay," Wuxian agreed.

Wei Wuxian managed to get through an hour of meditation with Wangji's help. The soul calming music helped him relax but it was not really effective for long term. If Wuxian was going to meditate more, he needed to learn to balance his abilities so they do not clash. It could be dangerous and Wangji doesn't want something bad to happen to Wuxian.

The two soon had breakfast and went to Feng Shui to set up for their first lesson. The two set up the tables so they were better equipped with parchment, ink, grinders, and brushes. The desks were in a crescent shape so they could all see the front and no one really had a front or back seat. Once the six disciples arrived, they began the lessons.

"So I got some permission to do something a bit different for our first session. I am not showing you this to learn how to use it as it can really only be wielded by a Yin and Yang master, but I want to summon some resentment so you can get a closer understanding of it. How it looks, feels, how you react to it," Wuxian said and summoned a couple black wisps of resentment. He went in front of each disciple before standing in the front, "how did you feel when it was close to you?"

"Cold," Baihe said calmly, "not really like a winter kind of coldness but it felt...internal almost."

"Resentful energy feeds well off of emotions. When it comes to spirits and corpses, some lives end terribly and the result is just pain, even after death. That pain stays with you until it is resolved. To some, that pain never goes away," Wuxian explained, "what else did you feel or notice?"

Biyu raised her hand before speaking, "Resentful energy isn't really internal energy like a cultivator would gain from their golden core. Though cultivation relies on the mind, body, and spirit, the resentful energy seems similar but lacks the body. If it reacts to emotions, it is more likely due to the mind in some sense."
