In the morning, Haishi was the first to wake up aside from Wangji and Sizhui. They woke up a little before the normal Lan waking hours but the others were still asleep. Haishi was a young and clever girl. She had a little mischievous side too. She found some berries she learned about and ground them into a paste and with a little bit of water and some other herbs nearby, she made some paint. She used this red paint and using her fingers she started drawing on Wuxian's face. Wangji saw what she was doing and didn't say anything to her as he felt it was funny. He knows Wuxian would have a blast with Haishi and be playful back to her while lightly scolding her.

Sizhui was a bit surprised by this but found it cute. When he got some of his memories back from when he was a child, he remembered doing something similar to Wuxian but with mud. With the memory in mind, he let out a laugh, which caught Wangji's attention. Wangji's brow raised slightly and looked at him with curiosity.

"Since getting some of my past memories and from what Uncle Ning told me, I used to do this too, but I didn't have berries. I used mud instead. Baba was a bit cranky but he was very playful. Also, Uncle Ning told me Aunt Qing would encourage me sometimes just to wake him up," Sizhui explained.

Jingyi woke up hearing this story and laughed, "that's very sweet," he said, "I can only imagine what Wei Qianbei will do now."

"I guess we will find out, but Xiao Mei Mei, you need to get rid of the evidence," Sizhui told her.

Haishi nodded and tossed the last of the paint away and cleaned her hands in the nearby river. What Haishi drew on Wuxian's face was two buck teeth by his lips and a dot on his nose and whiskers, "Baba is a big bunny," she said and sat on Lan Wangji's lap.

Wangji hugged her close and smiled, "he is, isn't he," He said.

"He won't be mad right?" Haishi asked.

"No, your Baba is the nicest person I know, unless someone hurts or threatens his family or friends," he said, "you don't want to see him like that."

"How upset would he get if I got hurt?" Haishi asked.

"He would burn the world for you," Sizhui said, "he loves his family. He doesn't get angry often, but he has always been angry if someone he cares about is hurt in some way."

"Oh," Haishi said, "what about you A'Die?"

"Your father will be angriest of your Baba is hurt," Jingyi said, "it's otherwise hard to tell when he is angry."

"You can tell," Sizhui said, "trust me."

Wangji smiled, "I get angry just like Wei Ying if family is hurt."

"Okay," Haishi said, "you are in charge of punishments. Do you punish people often?"

"Mnn, there are a lot of rules the sect lives by. I help with that when I can," Wangji said, "I don't think you have to worry. You are very protected by Wei Ying for you to be punished."

"I won't do anything," Haishi said.

"I know," Wangji said, "are you hungry? Why don't you and your brother go get some food ready for everyone. Jingyi, can you go with them?"

"Yes, Hanguang Jun," Jingyi said as he and the other two left to go get food ready.

Wangji then turned to Wuxian who was curled up right into Wangji's left side. Wangji smiled and chuckled at the artwork Haishi made on Wuxian's face, "Lan Zhan, I am not that awake yet but I can hear you laughing. What is so funny?" Wuxian mumbled.

"Our daughter," Wangji said.

"What did she do?" Wuxian asked.

"She found a big black bunny," Wangji said.

"How is that funny?" Wuxian asked.

"Maybe you should wake up and look for yourself," Wangji told him.

"Fine," Wuxian said as he slowly sat up and stretched his arms out. Wuxian then looked around and within the reflection of Bichen's hilt, he saw his face. His eyes widened and he went over to the river to see his reflection. Wuxian huffed out a laugh and looked at Wangji, "really?"

"See, very big bunny," Wangji said with a smile.

"You let her?" Wuxian asked with a smile.

"Yes," Wangji replied.

"Where is she?" Wuxian asked.

"Getting breakfast prepared with Sizhui and Jingyi," Wangji told him.

Wuxian nodded and washed off his face, "did Sizhui take part in this?"

"No but he told her about a time where he did the same thing," Wangji said.

Wuxian laughed and sat on Wangji's lap, "I shall have a word with those two later."

"Mnn," Wangji said.

The two had some time to themselves so Wangji felt he had some time to cherish Wuxian. He kissed him and held him close. Wuxian wrapped his arms around Wangji's neck and deepened the kiss. Their tongues tangled together and hooked over the other. When the kiss ended, Wangji bit down on Wuxian's bottom lip before pulling away.

"I love you," Wuxian told him.

"I Love you too," Wangji said.

"Baba!" Haishi greeted happily as she returned.

"You!" Wuxian pointed.

Haishi stopped and flashed a smile showing off her teeth, "yes!" She giggled.

"Get over here," Wuxian said getting up.

"Ahh!" Haishi screamed and ran away. Wuxian chased after her playfully and when he caught her, he held her up in the air, "Baba!"

"You dare draw on my face?" Wuxian said playful and held her close to start tickling her.

"Baba!" Haishi laughed, "A'Die, help!"

Wangji laughed and got up. He walked over to the two and held them close. Wuxian stopped tickling her, "punishments in this family is tickles. So you better be careful from now on," Wuxian told her.

"Maybe," Haishi said playfully.

Wuxian shook his head and set her down, "you are something else."

"Gege is on his way with food," Haishi said.

"Alright," Wuxian said. They soon gathered everyone else and ate a quick breakfast before cleaning up their camp and setting off again for their journey.
