Wei Wuxian spent an hour if not more just getting examined by Healer Lingyun. He was very kind and patient, but also knowledgeable with the practice of spiritual medicine and healing. To start treating Wei Wuxian of his pain that he is dealing with ever since he transferred his golden core, Healer Lingyun wanted to start with acupuncture as it was a good method to help him with his pain. The moment Wei Wuxian saw the needles, however, he suddenly bolted to the other side of the room furthest away from everyone. He was now in a state of panic as the memory of being stuck with a needle by Wen Qing when she and Wen Ning turned themselves in, rushed into his mind.

"No needles!" Wei Wuxian yelled, backing up into a corner.

"Wei Gongzi, it's alright, it will not be hurtful to you. It will help relieve your pain," Healer Lingyun said calmly.

Though he stopped using the method, resentful energy was still lingering within his system as it started to flow from Wei Wuxian's pores as a defense mechanism. It kept others from getting near him. Lan Qiren was getting upset with the healer, "put the needles away, can't you see he is afraid of them? The resentment is a way to keep others from harming him!" He scolded, "you will not use needles on him unless it is a last resort. Use herbal medicine or something else, but no needles!"

Lan Wangji knew how to get past the resentful energy so he knelt down just a few feet away from Wuxian, "Wei Ying, can you hear me?" He asked.

"Lan Zhan, please, I will do any other treatments but please, no needles," Wuxian replied with a sob. His breathing was sporadic and panicked. He was beyond terrified and was in the middle of a panic attack. The resentful energy was a way to keep him from getting hurt while his defense was down.

"I know, the needle is gone. We will try something else," Wangji said, "can you call the resentful energy away? I'd like to hold you. Let me comfort you."

It was almost immediately that the resentful energy cleared out as if it was never there. Wei Wuxian threw his arms around Wangji's neck and held onto him for dear life. Lan Wangji held him close and did what he could to help calm him down. He even started to quietly hum the song that he played in Xuanwu's cave. Wuxian calmed down slowly. He calmed down enough for Wangji to get him off the floor and back onto the cot. Wuxian refused to let Wangji out or his grip though. Having him right beside him and holding him, gave him a sense of security and he felt safer.

"Are you okay?" Wangji asked calmly.

Wuxian nodded, "just don't leave my side, please," he begged.

"I will not," Wangji replied and placed a hand on the back of his head. He then started to run his fingers through Wei Wuxian's hair. He then turned to Healer Lingyun and the others, "he is alright now, but no needles."

"I apologize for my negligence," Healer Lingyun said and prepared a tonic for Wuxian to take instead, "though acupuncture would have longer lasting effects, the tonic will still help. He just needs to take it two to three times a day. If it is not working we can up the dosage."

"Okay," Wangji nodded, "is he okay to leave?"

"Yes, I do recommend that he takes it easy until we get a hold on his pain. If he wants to help out the sect in any way he can, just make sure it does not affect his health or healing process," Lingyun told them.

"Alright," Wangji said and helped Wuxian with his robes before leaving the infirmary with him. Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen were wanting to meet with the elders and the head keeper so they could prepare for Wuxian's stay. They wanted to make sure Wuxian felt comfortable and accepted in Cloud Recesses. Wangji walked Wuxian back to the Jingshi, "will you be okay?"

"I will," Wuxian replied as they stepped inside the residence, "thank you for your support...and sorry if I was too clingy."

"I am okay with you being clingy. Be more clingy if you so choose. We will be cultivation partners soon. That being said, you come before anything else. You are my first priority now, do you understand," Wangji explained.

Wuxian nodded, "I just need time to adjust to all this," Wuxian said as he sat at the table, "can I ask you something though?"

"Mnn," Wangji nodded.

"Back at the cave when I asked for the song's name, I blacked out before I could hear it. I kept asking for the name because I just genuinely wanted to know it. It's very soothing to me and I find myself playing it on Chenqing every once in a while...does it have a name?" Wuxian asked.

"It does," Wangji replied, "Wangxian."

"What?"

"It's called Wangxian," Wangji repeated.

"Wangxian?" Wuxian questioned. Thinking of the name he found himself blushing, "if I heard the name properly back then, I would have heard your confession."

"It is alright," Wangji said, "I have you now. We went through a lot back then and all we can do now is move forward and create better memories."

"I still like some of the past memories we shared," Wuxian said, "you may not but I just enjoy your company. If I understood your intentions back then, things would have probably been different. I just thought you always hated me."

"You thought I hated you?" Wangji asked.

"I was a really annoying person back then, and I know you didn't really approve of my new cultivation methods either. I just thought that every time you asked me to come back here, you wanted to punish me," Wuxian explained, "Plus, everyone around me kept reminding me that you hated me."

"I would never punish you or hurt you. I only wished to protect you and hide you from the rest of the world. There were so many greedy people at the time. There still may be some greedy people now but it's not as bad since Jin Guangyao's death," Wangji explained.

Wuxian nodded, "I am sorry I misunderstood you."

"I should have been more clear from the beginning," Wangji said, "communicating was never easy for me."

"I know," Wuxian said, "we are together now and working through everything."

"Mnn, and I promise I will do what I can to help you," Wangji told him, "I will also try to be better at communicating with you."

"Even if this medicine does not help, I know you still tried," Wuxian said, "I appreciate it. I don't usually have anyone really care about me or worry for my health. My shijie was the only one who did but it was difficult sometimes. Her mother never made it easy."

"Well, you will get proper care here, you have my word," Wangji told him. Wuxian nodded as he was actually feeling more comfortable in Cloud Recesses now. There may still be questionable moments but Wuxian was starting to like the idea of living in a peaceful place with the man he loves.
