Lan Wangji had to be considerate of the things he was getting for Wei Wuxian. He didn't want to overwhelm the man, as he was not used to having his own personal things. Wangji had been spending the past few weeks just going to a few different places to get some things for him. Wangji got a couple new tea sets and even some ceramics for wine. As he stored Emperor's Smile in the Jingshi, Wangji thought it would be nice to have a set of cups for him to use with it.

A proper desk was set up beside Wangji's desk, which was personalized just for Wei Wuxian. Wangji even got a new ink and brush set custom made for him. They were made with sandalwood and bamboo and the tips of the brushes, the bristles, were soft yet firm for writing. The ink was plant based and occasionally used minerals such as graphite ground with water and applied to a brush. Wangji got a new sword stand for Suibian and had it set up beside Bichen's stand, and a stand to put Chenqing in as well.

Wuxian's new robes have also been slowly coming in. Wangji was really impressed with how they turned out and was looking forward to seeing how Wuxian would react to all of this. Wei Wuxian was someone who didn't like over the top fancy things, so Wangji made sure to keep the designs of everything he got simple yet elegant. So Keeper Hui was doing a good job with Wuxian's robe designs. There were a few custom designs that were made for special occasions. Keeper Hui also had Wuxian's head ornaments and ribbons delivered as well. The ribbon that Wangji gave Wuxian will be the one Wuxian would be wearing as it was custom for a spouse to wear their partner's forehead ribbon after they wed.

Wangji spent a lot of time with Keeper Hui at the location for Wuxian's workshop. Wangji had been wanting it to be perfect and not too overwhelming. Wuxian needed his own resources and books, a lot of talisman paper, and there was even an alchemy station set up. Lan Xichen was so impressed with how much work his brother has put into this. It's not everyday where he would see Lan Wangji so excited to do something, and it is something special for his future husband.

In the cold caves, Wei Wuxian was doing very well. His golden core was mended and was stronger than the one he gave to Jiang Wanyin. Lan An spent a little extra time in the cultivation chamber to help teach Wuxian how to balance Yin and Yang together. Lan An also informed him that Wangji stopped outside the chamber as he had Wuxian's sword. Wei Wuxian was able to step out for a moment to get it. Since the sword was spiritual, it was bound to Wei Wuxian. Both his old core and his new core were linked to it.

Lan An taught Wei Wuxian how to fix it so the sword did not respond to his old core anymore, meaning Jiang Wanyin. Once it was corrected, Wei Wuxian spent about two weeks just getting used to using his sword again. He spent some time in the main cave trying to get over his fear of flying. He'd fall and plunge into the cold water below. He eventually got the hang of it. He snuck out of the cave one night and went for a midnight flight. He flew to Biling Lake and then back to the cold caves.

Lan An felt that Wuxian was good enough to go about his own in the real world again, "I have to say, you are a very dedicated person, Wei Wuxian," he said, "you work hard and I am very proud to have worked with you."

"Grandmaster Lan An, I appreciate your help and guidance," Wuxian said, "I do have to ask, you recently spoke with my grandmother, do you think I will ever meet her?"

"You two will cross paths one day," Lan An assured him, "and you will not be disappointed when you do."

"Will I always be able to see and speak to spirits?" Wuxian asked.

"As a master of Yin, you have the ability to see and speak to spirits, Wuxian," he said, "you may even come across people who you may have known from your past...you must not let that frighten you. You must learn to forgive yourself as there is nothing you should be ashamed of. Those lives that have been lost, will one day reconnect with you. Perhaps it will be then, that you will get closure and peace."

Wuxian nodded, "I understand," he said, "did you want my help being put at peace or are you okay as you are?"

"I am okay as I am," Lan An said, "now, you can get back to your fiancé. You are getting married soon I hear. I give you my blessings and wish you and your husband good health and prosperity. I wish you a long and beautiful life of love and happiness. You two deserve it and more."

"Thank you," Wuxian said, "it is daylight out right?"

"It is morning, yes," Lan An said, "you are healed so please take care of yourself and learn to communicate with your partner."

"I will," Wuxian said. Lan An said his farewell to him and disappeared. Wei Wuxian smiled and looked at Suibian in his hand, "let's go my dear friend. I promise to take better care of myself this time and hope to never have to stop using you again."

Suibian thrummed in his hand as if it was responding to him. Chenqing was hanging at his waist. Wuxian was now able to do both spiritual energy and resentful energy abilities. He was looking forward to seeing what all he could do. For now, he was really looking forward to seeing his Lan Zhan again. It's been a few months as suspected so he was missing him.

Wei Wuxian was going to head straight to the Jingshi but he was honestly starving. As it was morning, he decided to head straight to the dining hall. When he arrived, he saw Lan Wangji sitting with his uncle and brother at their usual table. Wuxian strapped Suibian to his back before walking inside and over to his fiancé's side.

"Do you mind if I join you?" Wuxian asked. The three Lans looked up at him speechless as they weren't sure when to expect him to come out of seclusion. Wangji was the first to respond though as he held out his hand. Wuxian took it and sat down beside him, "hi."

Wangji smiled, "hi," he replied, "eat and we can talk after."

Wuxian nodded and enjoyed his breakfast. As he ate, he noticed that his portion was slightly different. There were spices in it and it had some flavor. He even had some meat in his dish. He looked at the three Lans sitting with him and they just shrugged as if they didn't know what was going on. Wuxian was going to get answers from them, one way or another.
