Xie Lian was the one who has the best chance of talking with Jun Wu. He hasn't faced him since that day. That one fateful day when he defeated him, and his cursed shackles busting due to Hua Cheng's sacrifice. He was to meet with his old master first but this was going to be interesting to say the least. Xie Lian's former master was the old state preceptor of Xianle, but also was a former member of Jun Wu's court before he became a god. His name is Mei Nianqing.

Jun Wu was placed in seclusion deep within Mount Tong Lu. Mei Nianqing stayed in a small cabin not far from the secluded cave Jun Wu resided. The two talked a lot and played cards, reminiscing about their old lives before Jun Wu's reign. Xie Lian teleports to Mei Nianqing's residence to speak to him about the matter at hand. After telling him everything Mei Nianqing paled, but he understood why Xie Lian came here.

"His Highness would not want such a creature to get their hands on Haishi, you should come with me to talk to him. He may have a solution even if he is secluded," Mei Nianqing said.

"I haven't actually seen him since..." Xie Lian began, "Would he want to see me?"

"He asks about you often, despite what you two have been through, he still likes you," Mei Nianqing said, "he has told me he is relieved to be out of the High Court. He feels that you are ready to take that position. He felt that a long time ago. I tell him of all the things that have changed and he is impressed."

"If he is willing to meet with me, then I will go see him," Xie Lian said.

"Come," Mei Nianqing said and the two left to speak with Jun Wu. Mei Nianqing entered the cave first as Xie Lian stood in the shadows. Seeing Jun Wu now, he looked happy, much more alive, but care free.

"NianQing, you saw me just this morning," Jun Wu said.

"There has been a development and an old friend came who wishes to speak with you," Mei Nianqing said.

"An old friend?" Jun Wu asked. He didn't remember having much companionship in the past. His eyes then landed on a silhouette behind his friend. The silhouette had white robes which stood out like a beacon in the night, "Xianle?"

"Your Highness," Xie Lian greeted.

"I think you can just call me by my name now, Xianle, I am no longer the emperor," Jun Wu said.

"Very well, I hope you don't mind me visiting," Xie Lian said.

"Of course," Jun Wu said, "come sit, what brought you here."

Xie Lian got straight to the point and explained everything. Talking about how Xie Lian got into a small mess and Hua Cheng created Tan Lan to save him. He explained how Tan Lan is now out of control and wants to cause problems to a dear friend.

"He wants to trade three souls for three different souls," Xie Lian said, "he said Ling Wen, You and Haishi were the three he'd be willing to trade for."

"Do not give him Haishi," Jun Wu demanded.

"I will not," Xie Lian said, "She is safe with her adopted parents and in a secluded location where Tan Lan cannot reach."

"I am strong enough to tear him apart, you know this," Jun Wu said, "I am guessing that was your plan, asking to use me as bait?"

"If you don't want to, I can speak with Ling Wen. Our group has a strong person who can help. His name is Wei Wuxian. He recently reached immortality, his gifts are impressive. Necromancy and being able to enter the spirit world. He can tune into resentment as if it's as easy as breathing. He has the power to tear Tan Lan apart, but we need to find a way to get him out," Xie Lian explained.

"Would you be willing to let me meet this man?" Jun Wu asked, "I am very Intrigued by him."

"I can ask him, his husband might want to come along," Xie Lian said.

"Fine by me, what is he like?" Jun Wu asked.

"More reserved, he is known as Hanguang Jun," Xie Lian answered, "he is Wei Wuxian's balance."

"I have heard about that name before," Jun Wu said, "Gusu Lan?"

"Correct, his name is Lan Wangji," Xie Lian said. He proceeded to tell Jun Wu their story.

"Wei Wuxian sounds like you in a way," Jun Wu said, "trying to save people."

"It is similar, yes," Xie Lian admitted, "it's interesting, he died and was resurrected."

"It is rare for such an occurrence," Jun Wu said, "I imagine the lord of fates would not let anyone look into him further?"

"No, not even me," Xie Lian admitted, "But I am okay with that, I know when the time is right, those two will ascend."

"This trial with Tan Lan is the deciding factor in their ascension," Jun Wu said.

"I figured as much, which is why Hua Cheng and I can only help so much. But we cannot let them lost their child," Xie Lian said.

"They adopted Haishi?" Jun Wu asked, "now I'd very much like to meet them"

Xie Lian nodded, "I will ask them to come. I will see if they are free to meet with you tomorrow if you are able."

"I am," Jun Wu said, "speaking of, where is that ghost king of yours? I imagine he doesn't let you out of his sight."

"Not often," Xie Lian said, "however, he is speaking with Immortal Sanren about this situation."

"Immortal Sanren," Jun Wu said, "she is indeed someone to talk with."

After some more time with small conversations and allowing Jun Wu to catch up with Xie Lian, Xie Lian had to return to Hua Cheng soon. He sent a message to Wangji to ask if he and Wuxian would be willing to meet with Jun Wu and it didn't take long for them to respond. They were both willing to meet the biological father of their daughter.
