Two souls.. broken by destiny!
What would happen when the stars align to get them together in a twisted series of words and phrases... all enveloped in letters!
Would they be able to heal each other?
Or would they once again be at the mercy of fat...
December 25th, 2021 - Seoul - Jeongguk's residence
Jeongguk woke up as the bright rays of the sun danced across his face and sat up slowly rubbing his eyes to rid them of the leftover sleep.
When his eyes finally opened, they landed on the drawer that he had come to cherish. A big bunny smile framed his face thinking about Taehyung and he excitedly got up. He still had one letter to go through and he was nervous and jumpy - in a good way - thinking of what Taehyung might tell him today. Or Jae-Hyun, but who cares!
It was still early but he had a long day ahead of him, not to mention the dialysis after which he would treat himself to the letter sitting in his drawer. It is the last one, but Jeongguk is hopeful he may get another one soon if Taehyung keeps up his schedule. He had never failed to send one on Christmas Eve meaning the letter should reach him in a day or two!
So he quickly rushed to freshen up and fixed himself a small coffee. He wasn't allowed caffeine but a small cup twice a week is what he indulged in. Since it was Christmas, Jeongguk first made a call to his dads to wish them. This was the first Christmas they would be able to spend by themselves and Jeongguk was happy about it. His dads were finally having a normal life that they should have been able to live.
Soon enough Mrs. Choi showed up and Jeongguk felt the familiar fear and panic begin to wrap itself around his throat. Instantly, as if by habit, he started thinking of Taehyung and his letters that gave him courage to brave through the next two hours. He kept going through Taehyung's words in his old letters in his mind while the machine did its job of ridding his body of unwanted toxic waste that his kidneys failed to do!
Jeongguk wanted to read the letter right away but something made him stop. Maybe because he knew it was the last one. He went about his day, even tried to paint without success. By the time the evening rolled in and the staff had left, he couldn't hold it any longer.
Dashing into his room which made him spend a few minutes to catch his breath, he settled in the sheets and picked up the last letter and taking a deep breath, he began to read.

Jeongguk laughed softly at Taehyung's goofiness. He found him extremely cute and adorable. He was sure if Taehyung was in front of him, he would've pinched his cheeks. Slightly panicking at that thought, he gulped and continued.
