Enveloped with Love! (Taekook)

CHAPTER XXIII

10th June, 2022 - Seoul - Yoonmin residence

It was a quick cab ride to the Min's and Taehyung was glad that the traffic wasn't that heavy. He was very nervous since he had made the quick decision of coming clean to Jimin and Yoongi. He knows he's hidden this from them far too long and since he's decided to meet Jeongguk, it would be wise to get their blessing. They are after all his only family.

But that had put him on edge. What would they say? How would he even start? Would they be too mad at him?

More than Yoongi, it was Jimin that scared him. Jimin was terrifying when angry but he loved just as fiercely so whatever he decides would be Taehyung's punishment, he would take it. He did make them worry too much over the years.

Adjusting his sling bag on his shoulder, Taehyung got down from the cab after paying the fare. Jumping on his feet and taking deep breaths, he gave himself a small pep talk.

He could do this. How hard could it be? They love him. And he had his ultimate weapon, his puppy eyes! If push comes to shove, he will not hesitate to use them.

With that he punched in the code to the door and entered the apartment.

Hearing him, Jimin quickly came out running and crushed him in his usual bearhug and Taehyung hugged back just as hard. He had missed being this way for the last few days, always pushing him away since he was in a sour mood.

They broke the hug as Yoongi came down the stairs and Taehyung smiled at the couple. A real smile, one that reached his eyes and showed all his teeth.

That was enough for Jimin to start the waterworks. He had missed his friend, yes, but more than that they were both absolutely terrified for his mental health. He was spiraling these past weeks right in front of their eyes and they had tried everything to reach him and nothing had worked.

Seeing him in front of him, a bit thin and worn out but otherwise okay, flashing his smile at them was too much for Jimin's poor heart and the worry and fear of the past weeks just made it too hard for him. Even Yoongi teared up a bit which was extremely rare. He didn't ask Jimin to stop either, only rubbed his back softly to console him. He knew very well how much it was affecting Jimin to see Taehyung this way and not be able to help.

He, himself, was no different. Another week of this and he had decided he would drag Taehyung to the doctor even if he had to blindfold and tie him up for that. Thankfully, Taehyung at least looked okay. Everything else can be handled.

"I'm really sorry, Chimmy... Hyung.." Taehyung knew how much he had hurt the two. His people, his only family by being the way he was. He can never be grateful enough to have them in his life and he wanted to kick himself for worrying them this way. Tears ran down his cheeks as well seeing them cry.

"N-No.." hic.. "D-don't do-don't.."

Hic..

"...L.--.." hic.. "L-love you.." Hic.. "so m–" hic.. "...much."

Jimin was struggling to breathe and it broke Taehyung's heart so much. It was so easy for him to decide that he can't deal with anyone when Jeongguk's letters stopped. He didn't think even once what it would be doing to the people who he was leaving behind.

Now as he watched the two men struggle with their own emotions and also trying not to make Taehyung feel bad even when he deserves the worst, he wonders if he even deserves to have such good people love him.

He was hurt that some man he hasn't even met was ghosting him while he was doing the exact same thing to the only family he has. Whatever he has with Jeongguk has made him so blind, he low key hates himself.
