CHAPTER XLV

August 7th, 2022 - Seoul - Asian Medical Center

Dr. Jung led everyone a little away from the room into the waiting area, where he excused himself after assuring to come check on Jeongguk soon before he left. It was awkward, to say the least, as the four men settled around a small table.

Jimin passed the two older men small smiles which they returned and it relaxed him a bit. Realizing that these would be his best friend's in-laws soon, he quickly introduced himself.

"Uh.. Hello... I'm Jimin, Taehyung's best friend and this is Yoongi, his cousin and my fiancé. It's nice to meet you."

Both men smiled kindly at them but their eyes were sad. "We're Jeongguk's dads, I'm Woosung and this is Jungmin."

The air was still awkward and Jimin kicked Yoongi under the table to say something. The man huffed and smiled before bowing to the older men.

"Nice to meet you."

Jimin glared a bit at his fiancé, before turning to the men.

"Guess we'll be seeing each other a lot now... Once the two in there make up!! Which reminds me..." He turned to Yoongi who also looked at him.

"What was in that letter? I don't understand. Why did he break up with Taetae?"

Before Yoongi could answer though, Woosung spoke up.

"Jeongguk is sick and he doesn't have much time so I guess to save Taehyung from the pain, he broke up or tried to at least..."

Jimin gasped at the information and looked at Yoongi who immediately put his arm around his fiancé, nodding solemnly.

Jungmin, on the other hand, glared at his husband with such fury, Woosung probably felt it. Looking at his husband, he asked.

"What?"

"I swear to God... Why are you with him on this? He's our son, for fuck's sake!!"

Woosung winced at the yelling and put his hand on his husband's thigh that stopped the furious man from shouting more. Jimin and Yoongi got uncomfortable too when many around them turned to look at the commotion.

"Not now, Jungmin. We will talk about this later."

Jungmin scoffed bitterly. "Talk? There is nothing to talk about. I'm never going to support this."

"I-I know it's hard...but-"

"But nothing!"

"Maybe..." Yoongi's soft but firm voice stopped the two men from arguing further and they looked at the younger couple.

"Maybe we should head back to the room. Taehyung is still recovering and I'd like for him to rest. We've given them enough time."

The older couple was flustered and apologized quickly for their bickering as everyone nodded and got up, starting their way back to the room. Jimin just wanted to hug his soulmate and took quick steps towards the room.

Meanwhile in room 204, the men had finally dried their tears and were now cuddling in the bed, lazily making out. Taehyung had told Jeongguk about everything that had happened after the phone call and what had resulted in him being hospitalized but left out the part with the knife.

He didn't want to scare the man anymore than what he already was. Jeongguk had immediately made Taehyung lie down on the bed and fussed about his injuries even though they were almost healed. Not wanting to be away from him anymore, Taehyung had whined till the time Jeongguk did not join him in bed and they were just lazing around.
