December 27th, 2021 - Seoul

The past 2 days went uneventfully for Jeongguk. He spent most of his time inside his house trying to settle in. The housekeeper and the cook were efficient as ever so he was fairly comfortable. He missed his dads a lot so had spent a little time calling and texting them back and forth. They sounded well on the phone which was a relief.

He had also visited Seokjin and his boyfriend Namjoon at their coffee place, it was a bit far from where he stayed but it's not like he'd visit every day, although he must admit, the drive was tiring for him. He did have another dialysis which went horrible. The fact that he has no more of Taehyung's letters to brave through the pain kept pricking at his mind. He doesn't know how he got through it and dreaded the next one but decided it's best if he took one day at a time.

He also spent quite a bit of time trying to paint but he ended up with rubbish every time. He had never struggled to paint before. He simply closed his eyes and worked and the art just flowed from his fingers. Hands automatically directed the brush towards bright, vibrant colors making the canvas come to life with masterpieces. Be it abstract or scenery or even portraits. Now all he had was a canvas which was all black .. and nothing! He stared at it for quite some time before giving up and watching some random TV show.

He was doing okay, the incident from Christmas was pushed at the back of his mind. Although it won't be a lie to say that he thought of Taehyung. Quite a bit.

Where was Taehyung? Was he still in Seoul?

He had also contemplated visiting the address mentioned on the envelope. Would that make him a stalker?

No, right?

He could just say hi... That he was passing by and make up some shit excuse to talk to the boy.. But how would he recognize Taehyung? What if he had moved away to a new place? Even if not, what would he even say?

Hi, I'm Jeongguk. I'm staying at your ex's place and read all your personal, intimate letters to him. And now I can't stop thinking about you, so I came here to meet you?

God, what is the matter with him? How did he get so pathetic? Pushing himself off of the couch, he made his way to the washroom. A nice long bath with some soothing music would do him good.

With that plan in mind, he started drawing a bath for himself in the big ass bathtub. A little while, or more like 2 hours later, he stepped out of the tub and dressed in comfortable clothes. Finishing the small portion of dinner his cook had stocked in the fridge, he decided to go for a walk.

The fresh air did him good. He felt at ease but not really? He couldn't help feeling like he's missing something. Shaking his head as if that would rid him off the unnecessary thoughts, he made his way back to the house. It's not as if he could go far, he'd collapse in the middle of the street!

Entering the building, he acknowledged the night guard and as expected, his eyes landed on the familiar letter box, only this time, the guard motioned to it again as he passed. Assuming it meant that he had mail, he hesitantly approached the letterbox.

Why would he have mail? He just moved here...

With shaky hands he opened it only to have his eyes almost pop out at what he saw.

A letter sat there.

In the familiar handwriting that he had come to cherish... A letter from him.

"Taehyung...." A soft whisper left his mouth.

He grabbed the envelope and made a run towards the elevators that took forever to come. Fighting the urge to open it in the hallway, and skipping from one leg to another, the ding of the elevator was finally heard.. Jeongguk could feel his heart pounding in his ears as his floor neared. Why was he so nervous? And excited?
