The next morning, Taylor woke up late. She tiredly looked for Travis but the other side of the bed was empty. For a second, panic crept up in her. Did he leave? She wasn't sure where this thought even came from but he proved her wrong moments later coming back from the kitchen with breakfast on a tray. Taylor inconspicuously sighed about her irrational fear. "Good morning beautiful", he grinned before carefully sitting down next to her with the tray on his lap. "Good morning. You didn't need to do this", she said sitting up. "But I wanted to", Travis smiled feeding her a piece of the apple he cut. "Because we can stay in bed longer if we eat here", he added smirking. Taylor smiled back at him not sure if that was a wink or if he meant it just like he said it. "Where did you even get all this from?", Taylor wanted to know when she saw the tray. He had even made some pancakes. "I allowed myself to ask your security for a little help where to find stuff. I hope that's okay", he honestly said. Taylor just laughed. "I didn't know that they know. And did you expect any guests? Cause that's a lot of pancakes", she pointed out. Travis shrugged: "I wanted to have enough. Also... I haven't made breakfast for two in a while."

Right after these words, the doorbell rang. Taylor looked at Travis confused but he obviously had no idea who it could be. „I'll see who it is", Taylor sighed. Not many people could even get through to her doorbell. Travis sighed getting up to put some clothes on just in case. "Mom?!", he heard silently through the door. He froze for a second. He was pretty sure Taylor's mom knew about him but she probably didn't expect him here today. Either way, he couldn't do more than make himself look okay and carry the tray out of the bedroom again. "Oh, did I disturb a breakfast in bed?", Andrea noticed him immediately. "Nah, we have enough pancakes anyway. Hello by the way. I'm Travis", he introduced himself a bit nervous. "Andrea, good morning", she smiled. "So, do you wanna stay for breakfast", Taylor interrupted them visibly nervous. "Only if you want me to", her mom smiled. Taylor looked at Travis. He tried to show her that it was okay, so they sat down at the table shortly after.

Travis took a few things off the tray to place them on the table while Taylor went to get another coffee for her mom and one more plate. "It's nice to meet you", Andrea said helping him a little with the tray. "The pleasure is mine", Travis answered exaggerating jokingly. He often was more unserious and joking when he got nervous. Taylor picked up on that when she came back but it was kinda cute to her. She was so relieved when they started a casual conversation as soon as she sat down. Andrea was here on purpose. At least that's what Taylor thought because she had told her that Travis would come to visit. Maybe she didn't expect him to stay for that night but it felt like she just wanted to meet him. Travis seemed like he had no problem with that. He was answering every question politely, making jokes sometimes and just being himself. Of course, he was a little insecure but he didn't play a role or anything. His humor also hit not only Taylor but also Andrea every time.

They ate their breakfast together talking about this and that but Taylor's mom decided to leave afterward. She didn't want to intrude. They said their goodbyes and when the door closed between them, Taylor let out a small breath. Travis just hugged her. "I didn't know she was going to come", she said. "Oh, it was nice to meet her. Hopefully, we'll be able to get into the embarrassing childhood stories next time", he just winked at her. Taylor giggled now fully relieved. "I'd rather never do that", she answered. Travis laughed before giving her a small kiss. She was a bit surprised by that but it felt so right. "Maybe we can stay in bed next time", she mumbled realizing how that sounded after saying it out loud. Her cheeks immediately became bright red. Travis just laughed about her cute face. They enjoyed the time they had left on that couch laughing and talking. But he had to leave eventually and Taylor had to get ready too.

"I miss you already", he texted her minutes after leaving. She could feel a warm tingle reading it. Smiling widely, she answered: "I miss you too." Her mom also had texted her earlier that she didn't want to disturb them and she didn't know that he would still be there in the morning. Taylor wasn't mad at her at all. Andrea just wanted to check in on her after the date. And now that the breakfast went so well, she was kinda thankful for it. His brother was so fun to talk to on the phone and Travis got along with Andrea. Their families could get along really well it seemed like.

The next few days, Taylor and Travis continued texting and having phone calls as often as possible. She really wanted to see him again but it wasn't easy to find time right now. He had practice and games. She was still on tour and also recording for the next album in between. She didn't really tell him that yet. Travis probably thought she was re-recording Rep, Debut, or the rest of 1989. But right now she had so much to say about the last few months and years that she had to write and record. There was still a sadness in her every time she thought about Joe. She didn't miss him anymore or regretting the breakup. It was a pure sadness about how things went downhill so slowly for so long. Maybe mixed with a bit of anger towards him because Joe definitely went too far in some ways. Matty was a different story. She wouldn't forgive him for ghosting her out of nowhere. Maybe there would always be a certain anger bubbling in her chest when she would think of that. Now that Travis occupied a lot of her thoughts though, she had an easy way out of that sadness and anger and also reasons to start writing down some happy love lyrics again.
