Brittany Knows

"I'll see you after the game, okay? Is everyone there already?", Travis asked. He was talking to Taylor on the phone about two hours before the New Year game. "I can't wait. Win for New Year, okay?", she smiles. He had been with the team since the last evening and Taylor had prepared his place to welcome some of the people before heading to the stadium later. He had asked her multiple times if it was okay for her to kind of be the host at his place but she was fine. All of the people who were coming around, she had met before, and also, Brittany wanted to come early. She just had wanted to help Taylor out when she had heard that she would have to welcome everyone alone. "We will! Is Brit there already?", he asked when he heard someone talk in the background. "Yeah, she just arrived", Taylor let him know. "Oh, then I won't interrupt any longer. I love you! See you later", he quickly said. "I love you too", she gave back before they ended the call.

"So, what's left to do?", Brit asked afterward. "Ahm... Not much. Drinks are cold already, some snacks are over there. Honestly? You could help me pick the outfit for the party later", Taylor laughed a little insecurely. They haven't known each other for long but they got along really well. "Oh, not sure if I'll be a big help but show me what you got", Brit said following Taylor upstairs then. "Okay, so... I got two dresses from my team. I don't usually ask designers for a private party but it's New Year after all", she explained getting out the silver glittering dress. It was fairly short but with the straps and how it was cut, the dress was easy to wear and almost comfortable. The other dress was white, a little longer, not glittering but very tight and without straps.

"You gotta wear it for a couple hours. That one looks like you'd have to adjust it less. Like... you know?", Brit said mimicking movements to pull a dress up. "Yeah... that's a lot though. The glitter. Is it not too much?", Taylor questioned. "Trust me, nothing's too much if you are on a New Year party with the Chiefs, dating Travis Kelce", she smiled. "Also, my dress is like that too. Just black", she remembered. "Oh... and it doesn't have stripes", she chuckled realizing that she would be the one adjusting her dress. Taylor laughed a little too. "Okay, so then silver it is", she decided and picked her accessories quickly. "I bet Travis likes the shorter one more too", Brittany grinned looking at the two dresses again. Taylor laughed putting the longer one away. "Probably", she admitted.

Only a few minutes later, the first guests arrived and when they made their way to the stadium, Donna had joined them too. Taylor found herself feeling very comfortable around Travis' mom. She just reminded her of her own mother and she still thought it was a shame they hadn't managed to get them together yet. "I'm glad you could make it", Donna said when the players were about to get out on the field. "Me too. I usually have a little bit of time off around holidays like this", Taylor explained. „I'd love to see every game of course", she added sighing. Missing him was extra hard when he had a game and she couldn't be there. "Oh, trust me, I know what you mean. It's still hard to figure out how to see most games of both of my sons", Donna smiled. Then they got interrupted by the players coming out.

"I hope he doesn't get hurt", Taylor mumbled. "Hm?", the older one didn't hear her. "I hope no one gets hurt", Taylor quickly repeated a little more general. "I know it's harder to say than do but you shouldn't think about that", Donna said petting Taylor's back motherly. "You're right. That's not easy", she admitted. "Does it get better over time?", she asked. "Yes. Time and talks. Not just with him. Talk to Brittany too maybe", Donna gave her the only advice she had. Taylor nodded. She still hasn't talked to Travis even though this topic had come up in her head before. She didn't even know why she had pushed it away.

Every one of her worries was blown away as soon as Travis smiled up at her making her blush. Everyone saw that, she was sure about that. But it wasn't the last time during this game that he glanced up at her and she smiled back at him. The game itself was nerve-wracking. Taylor did her best to not think about every way he could hurt himself. His great plays made it a little easier. As soon as the win was secured, screams and applause erupted in the stadium. "Taylor! Do you wanna come with us to change for the party or what's the plan?", Brit asked her when everything calmed down enough to understand each other. "Where?", Taylor asked. She thought she had to hurry home and then to the location. It was pure luck that she had her things packed and ready to change. "Just come on!", Brit pulled her to the door.

„Ahm...", Taylor hesitated looking at her security who already seemed stressed. "Oh, sure, sorry. Ahm... this way. And down there we just turn right and then there is a room we often use as a wardrobe. It's really just a spare room we kinda turned into the women's wardrobe. I won't pressure you though. If that's not safe, we'll meet later", Brittnay quickly explained to Taylor and her bodyguards. Taylor looked her her people. "We can go. It's only the booths up here, we should be fine. But we'll stay at the door!", Marc said checking the hallway again. "Okay", she agreed happy to not make this more complicated. "Sorry, I didn't want to make it complicated", Brit mumbled on the way there recognizing the VIPs around them watching every step Taylor made. "I was about to say the same", Taylor admitted making them both chuckle. So they quickly got ready for the New Year after-game party. They put on jackets and pants over their party outfits and left the room as if nothing happened even though the thight jeans barely fit over the dress. On her way out, Taylor thought about the fact that she had just been half-naked in a room noone had checked for cameras before. She always had some paranoia regarding nudes but she swallowed it and concentrated on the moment again.
